hey pals! just wondering what your favorite knifes are under 10 bucks. i was just looking at a budk catalog that a buddy of mine pulled up and i was amazed at how many selection there are in it. so many options! i was looking at picking one up but i can't decide! :) i know there are a lot of good ones but i wanted to hear yours opinion on which on is best that i should get. the timber wolf assist rescue has been really catching my eye. seems like a lot of knife for the money. anyone here got one? is it as cool as it looks in the picture?

thanks.

Stick to your S&W knives. This knife may even be a downgrade from the likes of MTech and Tac Force. At least BUDK actually lists the steel as AUS 6.

If you plan on actually using this knife I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere. Check out some kershaws. Under 20 bucks and the edge will actually last awhile.

Best of luck on your search.

Best knife under $10 isn't in a BudK catalog. It's at Walmart, part of the Ozark Trail line. A pretty good knife for the money.

In that price range though, I stick to Opinels.

I would look for a good used $25.00 knife that someone is selling for 10 bucks. Go to a flea market you will do better with your $10.00. Don't forget it will be ten plus shipping from Bud K.

Say Heah Don Joe, I found a Sp|ING Flipper at Cigars International where I buy my cigars, They give you a free gift if you buy a certain amount and exceed a certain price, Sometimes it's $99.00 and over sometimes it's $125.00 and over it depends what tge gifts are. Mostly it's cigar cutter and Lighters, We'll I loose Lighters alot so I like to get Lighters and some are real good Tourch Lighters that I use when I go into the bush, Yeah a Tourch lighter to start a fire, I like it better than rubbing two sticks together heh heh heh, Anyhow a couple of times, I got some knives, Pocket knives that are Black Ops usually with Gurka cigars and some of the Gurka are a decent smoke, You just need to know which ones, One of the knives, Infact I have about three are all steel made, But solid and built pretty good, Their small, Kind of a Tactiecool, But none the less I open boxes on future orders and other boxed mail, For free, Their pretty good. But then I got a Large Folder, Oh the knives are made by Hansotia Co. I once read somewhere it was a company that made high custom knives. Although I never heard of them. Anyone know anything about the company, Please Chime in. Well anyhow then I got a e-mail from C. I. on some cigar sales and some products, You got it Lighters, Cutters and a few other things like Flasks the Stainless steel kind although I don't drink I got a free gift one time, But this one time it was a large folder, It was a Gurka Black Ops Spring Flipper, The knife is very impressive. It's spot on in appearance and came very sharp, I got the serrated, It's an all steel folder I don't know the blade steel, But it's very sharp and came with a very nice quality pouch not like this glue velcro you get. This is a snap and the stitching appears very good, Then this e-mail and they were selling for $7.95 apiece, So I bought a half of dozen plus tge two I got from a buying cigars, Lemme tell you, They look good enough to give out as B'Day Gifts, Xmas etc. Even to guys that know a little about knives. Yeah, Check them out, I don't work or will I get a gift for sending anyone there, I just think the price is better in these knives than anything in the web that sell knives, Sometimes I see them sell on e-bay, I think someone buys them there then sells them on e-bay. I check Cigars International every once in a while just to buy more of those knives, I give them up as gifts and no I don't sell them on e-bay, But I do like the large Gurka Large Black Ops Flipper Folders, I've carried mine for a while now, They look like tgeir more expensive and hold a decent edge, Heck yeah for a $80.00 Knife that if I loose I don't cry. But I don't loose this one because it's on my belt.

Save your money a bit longer for better knifes.

Check out rough rider pocket knives ( an snow brand ) or look for the Victorinox Gardner, it's about a 10$ knife and I'm sure you can find it for less. It's an excellent knife as all Victorinox products are. BTW most knives in the budk catalog are crap.
Not available anymore, but my Kershaw select fire was 10$ a few years ago.
The buck 283 Nano bantam is also an excellent knife that I'm sure can be had for 10$ on line ( mine was 12$ at osh, but that's definitely not under 10$ 😉 ) then there's sanrenmu which I've heard very good thing's about.

If you're looking for a sharp knife, get an Opinel. I have the 8, and I think it's a pretty good size.

Generally speaking, you get what you pay for. Mora for a FB, Opinel for a folder. Forget the cheapo makes.

There are Kershaws for just over $10.
I would not want a wood handle..over time guess what.
Ouch.

I don't have a favorite knife under $10. But if you can refrain from eating fast food for a few days, you'll have about $35 bucks, at which point things get interesting.

Yep, Walmart. Got a buddy that swears by em. He about fell over when I told him how much my CRK Small Inkosi was. I think he likes his Walmart budget knife even more now...

This. Opinels cut better that many kitchen knives, and leave the average "tactical" folder in the dust. It's a two-hand opener and is about as un-cool as you can get, but when there's things to be cut you'd be hard pressed to find anything better.

They come in almost any size imaginable, fat or slim handles, or unfinished handles so you can carve it yourself. The basic ones usually go for $8-$12, but you can get fancier woods or fillet knives or whatever if you want to spend more.

I don't totally agree with your opinion on their cool factor - not to say your opinion is wrong by any means. I personally love how classic and timeless Opinels look. Simple but rustic, I find them very attractive.
