What is your SLEEPER PICK for best bang for the buck fixed blade knife. I'm talking under $100!!!!

Why?

Best bang for the buck for what purpose (survival/camp knife, hunting, fighter, etc.)?

Yeah, what size? Value per inch of blade, or quality/steel?
Beckers are an awesome deal. ESEE Izulas, 3, 4, Lite Machete.
Schrade Extreme survival, Ontario has many knives for uner $100 that with some modifications, can be fantastic.
It all depends on the needs of the user.

I've had a Buck Nighthawk for over a decade that I picked up for about $40. I've pried things, used it as a can opener, chopped up fish, stabbed through walls, you name it. It's got a 6.5" blade and is 1/4" thick. Buck does a surprisingly good job on their HT of 420HC, too. Tough, tough knife. Gets my vote

I guess I will narrow it down a bit. Multi purpose 7-10". Hunting (dressing quartering)/survival.

I dont own one but the GI Tanto from Cold Steel seems like a good bargain. Knife Destruction test showed the Cold Steel kukri in 1055 to be almost indestructible and the GI tanto is made from the same 1055.

Don't deal spot, read forum rules.

You're also not supposed to quote the infraction; it makes more work for the mods.

Not sure what you mean by sleeper, but for bang for the buck I'd say the Becker series, Moras, any ESEE you can find in that price range, the Buck Mayo Kaala, and Ontario's Marine knives.

From your neighborhood WallyWorld - a US-made classic - the Buck 119 Special - $34. A bit more - the 192 Vanguard - $65 in 420HC. I've bought the S30V and CPM154 variants for $70-$90, too. The 650 Nighthawk is a great utility knife, just a tad harder to find nowadays.

Stainz

The Loveless drop point hunter sold under the Beretta label a few years back can easily be found for under $40 with the "plastic" handle. It's the best deal I've ever seen in a hunting knife, and I've been using one off and on for over a decade. For $100 you can get the fancier version with the pretty Amboyna burl handle.

This Loveless design is one of the most copied patterns in the world for over 40 years with good reason; it's perfect for dressing game and other camp chores.

Mora

The Cold Steel GI tanto is a great deal at $20.

Oh wow

I cant believe that no one has mentioned the superb BK9 well under 100 and i think it stands toe to toe with alot of knives double the price.

Much wisdom in these two posts. I love the Beretta so much that when my first one was stolen I bought a replacement... and three spares!
