Now to figure out how much cord I need to wrap the handle!! Anybody know?
I used about 6' - 10' of paracord on all of mine depending on the type of wrap.

I wanted 7-10" OAL and good steel for under $100 in a field dressing/quartering/survival knife.
why didn't you say that in your original post![]()
I did a couple of posts down. Either way I got a good knife ...I hope
I bought one of these several year ago and the tip broke off under normal use. I called and Buck said to send it in. They sent it back with the tip ground down. That's the last Buck I ever bought.
For my money, it's Mora fixed blades, SAK and Case folders.
I've had a Buck Nighthawk for over a decade that I picked up for about $40. I've pried things, used it as a can opener, chopped up fish, stabbed through walls, you name it. It's got a 6.5" blade and is 1/4" thick. Buck does a surprisingly good job on their HT of 420HC, too. Tough, tough knife. Gets my vote

Stabbed through walls?
Don't forget the classic Ka-Bar!![]()
You don't break Buck Knighthake, or any other knife tips under normal use. They cut stuff. They aren't to pry with.
Stabbed through walls?
Oh wow
I cant believe that no one has mentioned the superb BK9 well under 100 and i think it stands toe to toe with alot of knives double the price.
I dont own one but the GI Tanto from Cold Steel seems like a good bargain. Knife Destruction test showed the Cold Steel kukri in 1055 to be almost indestructible and the GI tanto is made from the same 1055.
I own a Cold Steel GI Tanto because I couldn't not justify owning for the price.
