Best Police use knife

As a former Marine/UDT and Close-Combat expert I can tell you that if my life or someone elses might have to depend on a knife, whether to fillet an assailant, or cut someone out of a seatbelt, there is only one choice......a Cold Steel Voyager. I have used them since they came out and they have never failed, no matter what. They will outperform even custom knives. For proof, watch one of thier videos as they test thier knives. I have stabbed them through car doors, cut sheet metal with them, felled trees, etc...You won't be disappointed. If money is a problem, get a used one on EBay. A used Cold Steel Voyager is still better than almost all the other new knives on the market.

As for breaking glass, don't you carry a nightstick? If you have to have a folder that has a glass break on it, I'd pair the Voyager with Gerber's Hinderer Rescue Knife. It's the best of that type on the market right now.

Good Luck

The ergos of the EKI Commanders/mini-Commanders are such as to be nearly perfect. I suppose it would take an act of God to pry it out of someones hand. Between, the grip shape and the G10, it's a win-win.

We are issued PR-24s however they are not mandatory carry. A buddy of mine was on the Garden State Parkway recently and came across an accident where a passanger car went into the woods and rolled over with entrapment. A State Police Officer was on the scene attempting to remove the occupants, my buddy came to assist and used his pocket knife punch to break the window allowing the passangers to be freed.

Did someone mention this yet...?

Thanks for the interesting info on the Cop-Tool. That tool should be standard issue.

The only snag with the Cop tool , is price . 80-90 bucks is a bit painfull for some guys . Decontaminating the cord wrap could also be a pita . Must confess , Ive wanted one for a long time .
