Best SAK?

What? No love for the Outrider?

OK, I'm a little late, but. . .The Outrider.
Has the long saw, blade, reamer and scissors. Plus the toothpick, tweezers phillips head, etc.

The Rucksack is nearly the same, but lacks the phillips head (no big deal) and scissors (big deal to me). Otherwise, it's great, too.

You all seem to liek the saw attachement - how do you keep it sharp? I had one when I was a kid and blunted the saw on the first day and never used it again - since then I have avoided the saw versions

Really? It must not have been a Vic or Wenger. My saws stay sharp forever. Others will soon chime in to confirm.

Yep Ive cut seasoned oak, making handles for firesteels etc..lots of it! Cut traps, walking sticks, trees that were thicker than the blades are long, built shelters...on and on..I've used the saws on Vics and Wengers enough to say they don't easily dull, unless your cutting something its not meant to cut! Ive got some models I've used for 5 or more years, heavily that still cut quit well, not bad for 20 bucks :D

Whoa!I really like the looks & functions of that one:thumbup:

Seems like everytime I pick a favorite SAK,I find another one I like more.:o

Yep. I love my Farmer, but if I had to go into the woods with just one knife, the Outrider would be it. Not to turn this into a "one knife" thread or anything:p

For at the office, the Vic Mini Champ is my favorite. Ideal for dress pants and sheeple.

At home and in the woods, the Farmer all the way.

Right, that's like saying which pizza do you like? ALL OF THEM! With a name like 'knife collector' you'd think you'd have the ching to buy more than one model pal! Think you need to change your name to more like 1 SAK, hee, hee, hee...

Vic Ranger never leaves my pocket. It's got everything I want..except a pair of pliers.

Plain edge OH Trekker is my favorite. Second is the Outrider.

No one like Cadet at all?

I personally like Cadet for urban environment and Farmer for the field environemnt.

I have to admit - the Super Tinker has some great attributes, even if it is lacking a saw blade. Thankfully, however, no corkscrew. A great attribute is price & availability - they were blister packed at WallyWorld for $20 - now $15 on closeout. Unbelieveable bargain.

Of course, go hiking - and hopefully no need for scissors - and the Farmer is a great grab. I found two blue models, one to save with my silver and red Farmers, with AA Inova-made flashlights. So, I have a spare to carry or put in a PSK - and it is blue - a Smurf Farmer! Nice knife.

PS Proudly displayed in my knife case - my trio of Farmers! Yep, even we cheapskates can have collections!

Around the place, it's either the OHT or the Locksmith -

I'd like the Locksmith even better if it had a one-hand opening option....

I have the Farmer and I love it, but if I had the chance to do it again, Id go with the Alox Harvester, Main blade, hawkbill, saw, bottle opener. Perfect combination IMO.
