Yes, there have been decent knives this year but this one gets my No.1 spot basically because it surprised me so much. No surprise others find it the same and that you Mike, offer it as a prize Churchill shown here with a 56 on documents that pre-date any alleged Russiagate enquiries by more than 100 years

For me it has to be the Congress Jack - wanted a nice one in my collection for several years, was tickled pink (red?) when GEC produced a run in 2017. OH

As a fan of stockman’s it should be one of the three 66’s I picked up, all beautiful examples, but at just shy of 3-1/2” they are just too small and I have not warmed up to them.
Enter the 35 Churchill’s. The two blades I use on a daily basis good size and very pocketable. Though I haven’t pocketed this beauty yet, I have trouble carrying carbon a lot since moving to the gulf coast region, I may not be able to resist too much longer. Just have to buy the bigger bottle of mineral oil. And maybe a backup Churchill while they are still available.

I haven't bought many knives this year - no GEC and Mike didn't say the knife had to be a GEC so here is a nondescript Case SS Orange covered Sod Buster I bought this year that was made this year. As it happens, it is my favorite knife purchased this year and I've been carrying it daily for some time now.

I'm going to have to go with my Boker razor jack. I like the jigging pattern on this one over the other Boker razor jacks I have seen. But what makes it my best of 2017 is that I picked this one up the day my wife and I found out that we had been chosen to be adoptive parents. One day it will be our little girls first knife.
