Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

5K Qs 5K Qs I’m glad you’re back to stouts of your liking. I don’t know whether it’s available in your area (sadly, it’s not in mine), but give Left Hand Brewery’s milk stout a try if you come across it. It’s excellent, like the jigging on your RR.

This evening I’m enjoying the penultimate bottle of Pliny the Elder from a set of six that I picked up at the brewery in Santa Rosa. The lambsfoot was in my pocket and got the photo op, but I probably should have included my Marttiini Lynx Lumberjack that was on my hip while working in the garden this afternoon, as it put in more work today.

Nice RR there "Bling Daddy." That is some very nice and interesting jigging.
Thanks, Jeff. :) After reading your post, I suggested that my daughter start referring to me as "Bling Daddy", but she just snorted! :(:confused:

That knife is a great match for that bottle.

I’m enjoying greenish things in the backyard this evening.

Thanks for the Left Hand Brewery tip, Greg. :) I just checked their website's distribution map, and it looks like I may be able to find some of their stuff in West Michigan. In fact, I think I've had something from that Colorado brewery sometime not so long ago, but can't remember the circumstances. It was NOT milk stout, but I've seen recommendations for that before, too!
Thanks for rejoicing with me about my RR "peach seed" jigging (that's actually what they call it )! :)
I'm impressed that you can keep a P the E six pack in the fridge for so long! ;) How's the Sierra Nevada hazy IPA? Sierra Nevada has been a pretty reliable source of porters and stouts for me over the years.
I'm quite ignorant about photography, but I noticed a strange effect in your backyard pic: everything in the background seems to be encased in a "bubble" of some kind. Is that a filter you use, or just a normal foreground/background artifact of some kind?!?

Coffee stout's.....my favoriteView attachment 840997
That looks like a good coffee stout and a great denim knife, Rockstarter Rockstarter !!:cool::thumbsup:
Basically same comment for you, Mike!:thumbsup::cool: I live in the town where Founders is based, but have never had Backwoods Bastard. Your stag stock knife (Calf Roper?) is superb!!!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Last night's supper beverage is pictured below. Tonight I had Guinness Draught Stout "nitrogenated for smoothness", but maybe I like my stout to be a little bumpy, ;) 'cause tonight's brew was much LESS enjoyable than last night's.

Thanks, GT, and all who commented. The Founder's BB is worth a try. I think it was a posting in this thread that tipped me off to it last year. Unique and easy to pick out lots of different flavors, though, ultimately, a little on the sweet side for my liking.

I like that. You've got some really imaginative names for ale in the US
Hopefully I've got some barrel-aged beers for later.

Tasty drink after a long week.

I'm don't drink a lot of spirits but when I do it's generally a Glenmorangie, but the normal stuff not the fine stuff you have there.

I usually only post in this thread and the Trad' EDC thread.
My sincere apologies to anyone who replied or acknowledged any of my posts in December; I think it must of been around the 7th December maybe?? My elderly mother had an accident, fracturing her spine, so between looking after her and work I've not even gone near a computer. Hopefully I'll get back to enjoying BF.

So my first pub in over a month.

A pint of 'Swift Nick' 3.8%. Peak Ales Brewery. At the Bull's Head Inn, in the village of Foolow in the county of Derbyshire.

Blackjack Beers (Manchester) Barrel-aged Smoked Farmhouse Porter 8%.
I've got to say this was pretty damned disgusting...

On the other hand their Barley Wine, aged for one year in white wine barrels (9.7%) was absolutely stunning :D:thumbsup:

I like a good barley wine, hard to find around here. One store carries a barley wine by clown shoes, tasty but expensive .
