If Carlsberg did fridges.....
Oh I've been drinking ale since I was 11ish and have always preferred the copper/darker malty brewsFullers ESB is one of the greats; classed as a strong bitter, even out of a bottle it's good, on draft it's fantastic
but then pretty much all of Fullers portfolio is damned fine
Jack, may I ask what the vertical knife is? You've posted it before. It looks very Solingen-esque. Is it a current model or one of your more than lucky antique acquisitions?
Thanks Jack! A lovely knife and a generous gift off DuncanI do like that pattern and I've one similar but not in as good a nick and with delrin covers which is what I thought that had until I saw the sunny shot
I'm not actually imbibing tonight. Getting my kit together for a walk tomorrow so an old shot of my "warming influences"

Thanks my friend, it really is beautifully made, and the steel is great tooI like the pattern a lot, but have not found recently-made ones, such as the Otter models, to be anything like the same quality
That's a nice warming selection there, and a great pair of knives. Hope you enjoy your walk, and that you manage to stay out of the wind

Love those coversSalute My Blade forum Bro’s !

Aye I've tried to find a pattern like that on all the German knife makers websites but without success. Otter did offer something similar up to about 2 years ago but no longer offer them on there website. I guess they may still be available but it would probably take a visit to Germany to track one down??
Walk was great thanks Jack. Only -3c windchill at 1400ft so not the Siberian deathwind all these hysterical forecasters are chuntering about
And I see you got more hoppiness going on there, but I'm sure that Beerdo is weaker on draft.
Love those covers
In 151 pages of beer thats got to be the most unusual one yet
And for me yesterday a pint of "Bank's Mild" 3.5%. Banks Brewery. Being enjoyed in a very busy (the rugby was on) Goyt Inn, in the village of Whaley Bridge in the County of Derbyshire.

ScruffUK bought one of the Otter ones about 3 years ago, but he returned it, said the quality was terrible. I really like the pattern, and treasure that old Carl SchlieperApart from my next-door neighbour, I've not seen any sign of The Beast From The East either, the last couple of days have actually been lovely and sunny here. I haven't had a chance to use my new anemometer yet!

The Beerdo was nothing special, OK, probably wouldn't bother with it again. I like a pint of Bank's Mild now and again, but I've not had a pint in Whaley Bridge for a very long time, usually just passing through when I'm out that way these days. Nice to see your pics

Thats a shame, I've two Otters purchased in the last two years and their both great quality little knives.
It was a walk in the hills above the Goyt Valley and Fernilee and Errwood Resevoirs; I was tracking down a couple of things.
Shall Cross, one of the original 'Paulinus Crosses' of which only a short section of the shaft remains:

And the 'Shrine to the Blessed Virgin Mary' above Errwood Resevoir. This was constructed in the 1950's and was the first shrine constructed in this country since the 1500's.

There was no heat in the sun but it was cracking blue sky day, a bit windy on the tops but just a usual February day
