Desolation is amazing. What lakes are you checking out? Fishing? See any deer? Whats the knife?

It was my first time there and I’d agree that it’s a great place. We camped two nights at Maude Lake, passing Beauty Lake on the way in and out. From Maude, we did a day hike up and over Rockbound Pass to Lake Doris and Lake Lois. No fishing, just enjoying the wilderness and catching up with a couple of good friends.

We didn’t see any deer, but did see marmots, chipmunks, frogs, and a huge toad.

The knife is a Camillus 72—this one is actually the BSA 1047 model, but the only difference is the BSA shield—and is my favorite whittling knife.

Not a beer but it'll do

That's a tasty ginger beer though :) Nice cutlery choices too

I called into a Leeds bar for a couple of mid afternoon pints ;) The first, from Revolution Brewing was undrinkable - I blame the bar rather than the brewery, failing to pull a couple of pints off after they've been sat in the lines all night. Like drinking lukewarm Brasso! o_O

Swapped it for a pint of Kirkstall Brewery's Virtuous - on keg!
