Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Thank you, fellas, for the compliments.

Vince, the answer to your question is yes and no. I use the Zippo case but I have a butane torch insert that I put in my Zippos if I plan on lighting a cigar. I have been told that if you light a traditional Zippo and let it burn for a few moments to consume the fumes, then it will not impart flavor to your cigars. I haven't tried this though so I do not know if it is accurate or not.

Light is a bit dim so please accept my apologies in regards to the picture. I just got this wonderful 15 in (a configuration I have been seeking for awhile) and I am absolutely smitten with it.

Is this your new #15 from the exchange?

May have to get one of them GEC slipjoints. That's a nice one.

I like to use wooden matches for my cigars. Butane if it's windy or I'm out of matches.

Congrats on scoring a forum knife, my friend. The gentleman was a class act, very pleased that I was in the right place at the right time. I've been looking for that configuration for awhile. Patience can pay off.
Yeah it's a very nice combo!

I wish that I could come over and sip some with you, sometimes a guy needs to get away and just have a good time.
You had best not pass by here on your way to Vince's without stopping here for a drink. Is that understood?

I can see why Dylan, with your fantastic photography it is a real beauty
There is something... "ethereal... other worldly" about Dylan's photos. It is possible that... well... I mean... you know... there may be... ugh... well.... witchcraft involved. There. I said it. Hey... NOBODY IS THAT GOOD.:D

There is certainly a reason why GEC is relatively highly regarded. I hope you won't be disappointed when you get one.

I like and usually prefer wooden matches myself. Or a stick of cedar. But unless I am taking advantage of the rare occasion where I might sit in a cigar lounge, I find myself fighting the wind more often than not. It is easier carrying a torch for that reason.

You gentlemen flatter me. Truth be told, there are some very fine photographers on these forums and I do not necessarily count myself amongst them. I have a lot to learn yet. One of these days, I hope to have a camera other than the one on my phone to work with.

I played this backward Dylan just to see if there was some kind of code being transmitted. I couldn't understand it but don't think that doesn't mean I'm not on to you. o_O False humility is a dead give-a-way...

I can't say that I have heard of such a thing, is it any good?

Yes, Dylan, it is a good quaff. I like Budweiser (and Miller High Life for my daily non-craft American lager) and I like Jim Beam (Beam regular when I'm drinking at a bar, Black Label at home, though Wild Turkey 101 is my regular at home). That said, I do like this malty lager for its smooth finish. Oh, and it's 6.2% abv.

p.s. I do not drink "lite" beers for religious, moral, patriotic, and health reasons, and as matter of self-awareness. I, also, do not drink low-fat buttermilk, whatever the hell that is.

Understood my friend I would love to stop by. :D "Otherworldly" haha he's got the force with him! :p

Wow! We got the same tastes! Sipping on Jim Beam now, with WT101 on standby!

Dwight, you are so correct about Dylan's photos!:cool::cool: But you, sir, are in that same pantheon of premier photographers as Dylan!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Here's something that puzzles me about many of your recent pics, especially those with the misty treeline in the background. Where is the camera positioned?? The knives often seem to be on a relatively low stone or stump, almost at ground level, but the camera seems to be "looking up" at the knife!?! Are you lying on the ground taking your pics? (No wonder your shoulders hurt!!:() Or have you dug a below-ground photo bunker you can stand in and keep your camera below the knife? Fabulous fotos, whatever magic you use! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool:

That's mighty high praise GT. The surface of the rock upon which the knives are resting is about 2 feet above the ground. It weighs 900 lbs and is in the shape of the number "1". I have hauled several such stones from miles away to serve as "park benches". These and similar foolish activities are the source of my shoulder problems I imagine. But I digress. As for the photos, most every pic is taken with my i-phone which is why the lens sets so low. Until recently I used Nikon equipment with high end lenses but the newer smart phone cameras seem to achieve the same results. Thanks again for your kind observations. :)
