Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

[emoji106] I knew it looked better. That's awesome. I can't imagine trying to dye a brand new knife. If I had your skills, maybe I'd think differently though. It sure does look great. I guess I may have to get one after all. I'm always in board shorts, so that sounds like the right thing to do [emoji1]. It just seems so similar in size to my case wish fits that role perfectly. I already missed the black micarta trying to decide. I don't think I'll make that same mistake with the oily creek

I'm glad you think it came out alright. This was my first attempt at dyeing scales and on a brand new knife that looked great no less. My wife though I was crazy and for a while there so did I. In the end I'm happy with the results and it truly feels like it's mine after putting in the time and effort. Thank you again for the compliment

Great work on that bone StoneBeard

America's oldest craft brewery has a refreshing new offering:

It goes down almost too easily.

Great pic Greg, I'll seek that one out

I'm drinking coffee at the moment (not even lunchtime here), but you guys are giving me a beer-thirst with those great brews!

... those peppers look great. What'd you end up throwing them in?

Right into my mouth. :D They're Padron peppers, or Pimientos de Padrón in Spain where they serve them by the plateful as tapas. A slow sauté in olive oil followed by a sprinkle of sea salt and you've got a nice accompaniment for a refreshing beer or glass of wine.

... I had the mint so I decided to do something different. Been a minute since I had a Mint julep.

I was just thinking the other day that it had been a long time since I'd had a Mint Julep. Yours looks very tasty.

And that rotten banana bone.... wow! Your upgraded model is the pick of the bunch. :)

I'm going to have to see if that brewery distributes to the Bay Area. Looks tasty. Your Beer Scout looks great, too.

Thank you, my friend.

I'll second your beer-thirst comment. The variety of beers posted here recently by everyone has been outstanding. It's too bad we don't have a real porch where everyone can show up with a six pack of their favorite to share. :)

Thank you Jack and Greg. Those peppers sound like a great appetizer. I will definitely give those a try. The mint Julep was good but I'd forgotten how sweet they are. Not bad but I wouldn't want to do to many rounds in a row. If there were a real porch to drink some beers and talk knives I'd gladly pull up a chair

TheFactor, both the Osage and Cocobola look stunning. Really nice knives. How was that pre prohabition cream ale? I've not tried any anything from pelican.

Thank you Stonebeard,
It's a very light beer compared to the IPA'S I normally have but this one is pretty tasty and a nice change .

Thanks Whittlinaway,
I know pelican is out Oregon as I've been to there brewery delivering some pallets of malt . They hooked me up with a case of non labeled beer that didn't make the cut and it was still delicious .
That's what got me hooked lol .

Esky Giraffe, that is one awesome looking knife

Had these two on me today. I'm a big fan of all things caffeinated and this Coffee Cherry Tea( made from the coffee berry husk) is pretty good both hot and iced. My wife recently turned me onto it as an iced tea option when it's Hot and I'm working outside. Everyone seems to think it tastes like something different. To me it comes off as sweet leaf tobacco which I used to enjoy very much. It was great to bring back a big knife after an extended time carrying #14's and #15's as my solo carry. This #54 was my first GEC and I love the big clip and spear.

Loving the Queen 51 birds-eye maple jack - once I thinned out the edge a little. Thanks Quattromori!
