Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Awesome looking beer, and knife. An even greater gesture on your part, to give it to him. I'm sure he was ecstatic! [emoji106]

Thanks sircharlespiko.

Ready to open some beers with my new Crown Lifter:

Fantastic looking Crown Lifter!:thumbup:I like the Beer Scouts a lot but find that I carry the one I have less then many other knives because of the sheeps foot. It's a good blade just not one that I personally get a great deal of use out of. The Crown Lifter and its cousins with clip and spear mains are models I would carry every day as it covers both an ability to open and blade shape I enjoy using. Excellent beer choice as well  the Bruery makes outstanding beers and I really enjoy all their offerings especially from the Terreux line.

After giving my father in law the Portage two days ago he surprised me last night with this. Needless to say it was an extremely generous gift and I'm humbled to call him both family and a friend.

Really starting to enjoy this knife. Oh and the IPA out of my kegerator isn't bad either. Can't wait for GEC to get the Beer Scouts started! Hopefully sooner then later!

I've been enjoying this Fat Tire and Friends collaboration series from New Belgium Brewing and friends. And, that's the Whittling Starter Kit GAW knife: just finished sharpening it.

About 35 yrs ago I had some pear cider when I was camping out in Canada.
My wife and I drank the pack quickly it was so good....butI never found it again.

I've been trying various pear ciders recently and finally found one that tastes as good as my recollection.

Great looking #74. Which IPA do you have on tap and which variation do you favor on the upcoming Beer Scouts?

Those ribs and jalapeños look amazing  my grandfather carried that same model old timer, great memories there. How's that colaberation brew taste? Thank you for the compliment on the story about my father in law. He's a great guy and it was really good to see him. The Avery Fortuna was a really good beer. Despite being a sour you could actually get hints of lime salt and tequila. My father in law was a big fan.The two TC's pictured in the photos are #14's from the recent run. Beautiful knives with amazing similarities to their extremely old counterparts.

Very nice Ebony BSK  Ive never tried that specific pear cider and will have to give it a shot.

Looks like your #74 is getting a lot of pocket time:thumbup: both those beers look awesome, a lot of interesting unique things going on with them. What did you think ?

Beautiful horn on the Lambsfoot Jack  that chocolate porter doesn't look to shabby either.

Great pic:thumbup: Laphroaig makes a fine single malt. Love the clip main #15. Was the secondary re profiled or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

Enjoyed a home brewed Pilsner and Southern English Brown yesterday while brewing a Hefeweizen. Got a good deal of use out of the flat head on the cap lifter connecting hose clamps

Thanks stonebeard,
The beers were interesting and unlike others I've had before. Great experience to try, but not sure I'd drink them all the time. I will have 4 more to try in the pack, which I'll definitely report back on.

I'm loving the Mustang, although it did bite me for the first time yesterday. It's awesome that you brew your own beer. I definitely admire you for that, since I'm selfish in the sense that I am only interested in the drinking step of the process. Those sure look like great brews though.

Also nice to see that scout functioning as a multi tool. Especially with all the banter on another thread regarding another opener's insufficiencies. Have a great 4th to everyone who will be celebrating!

Jack, that porter looks amazing, and your lambsfoot is looking as beautiful as ever. I was happy to see in the Guardians thread that it is also happy to be seen with a brew from my state. :)

Nice! Laphroaig 10 was the first bottle of single malt I ever owned. A friend gave it to my roommates and me as a house warming gift when we were only a couple of years out of college. It set me up as a peat lover for life. :)

Thanks! The collaboration brews I've tried so far have all been good in their own way. As you might expect the Allagash collaboration shows its Belgian influence. My favorite so far has been the collaboration with Hopworks Urban Brewery: Fat Sour Apple Ale.

Thanks for the tasting notes from the Avery Fortuna. Sounds great! And, it looks like you had a good brew day yesterday. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of the finished product!

For me today it's tasty beer from a can:

It's actually a radio knife. The secondary is a caliper/screwdriver

It is most definitely my eyes. To me the spine on the cap lifter almost made it look as if a pen blade had been reprofiled into a small clip. This makes twice this week I've been duped by variations of the radio knife. I mistook a crown lifter with two bolsters for a Diamond radio Jack also.

Very nice knife, the radio series is a winner with the clip and spear mains

Thanks a lot Greg :) That's the first time I've had the Meantime Chocolate Porter, I'm not a great fan of sweet beers, but it was nicely balanced and quite complex. I always the fruits of Sierra Nevada my friend, their Torpedo is a favourite :) That Firestone brew looks interesting, I don't think I've seen that one over here yet. Great-looking Ettrick

I guess a few of you folks will be having a tipple today, so cheers everyone :)

StoneBeard,

I have Great Basin Brewery Icky IPA its a light IPA that is great for the summer. I am down for "Golden Ale Jig Bone"

Thanks Jack. Outstanding Ebony Diamond Radio Jack ::thumbup: Lagunitas makes some great beers and their IPA is outstanding and very fairly priced. It's actually produced about ten minutes from where my folks live.

Enjoying obsidian stout, and stout of the Union with my sbj

The blue on the SBJ looks great. I imagine it's got to be close in color to some of the water out in Hawaii Very fitting color for an island companion. Deschutes makes really good beers. Obsidian stout being one of my favorites. How was the Stout Of The Union?

Leinenkeugel makes great shandys! Very drinkable. I really enjoy their sunset wheat. Nice scout, what other tools are folded up in there?

StoneBeard,

Great Basin is a pretty sweet brewery. I had the oppertunity to have dinner and a flight there about a year ago while in Reno for work. They had some funny Ickysaurus shirts with a prehistoric beer monster on them for sale  I think it's awesome that GEC went beer themed on the majority of the Beer Scout Knife covers. I'd bet that golden ale jigged bone turns out great.

Some great tipples in this thread, you folks have excellent taste :)

The Lambsfoot always looks amazing Jack  Really like the art on that bottle. Citra is by far one of my favorite hops as I enjoy the tangerine/ grapefruit IPAs. How was that Okham?
