Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Tried a 6-pack of this stout this week while away on vacation. I like most stouts, but this one had a strange aftertaste that didn't thrill me. I think the taste was intentionally a strong hint of Nutter Butter wafers, but I didn't especially like it "contaminating" my stout. (Actually, I don't think I've ever had Nutter Butter wafers, but I've had Little Debbie Nutty Bars (now called Nutty Buddy, I think) and the stout definitely had a taste of that with each swallow.)

I love peanut butter, but I’m not a fan of the flavor in other things. I had some peanut butter whiskey once that didn’t do anything for me either. 👍

Jack Black Jack Black I was just thinking the same.
This American single malt...despite tasting notes describing every flavour known to man...jumps out of the glass...punches you in the head...and burns rubber down your throat....cheers.
Cheers Jon (sorry for missing this until now mate)

A cold ( by aussie standards) winters saturday arvo ....thinking we need more woods on forum knives...then i remembered the 2019....hey this stuff is 10%...it's deep dark and tempting...much like the La Brea Tarpits were to Sabretooth Tigers...I think I just saw one struggling for air at the bottom of the glass..

That beer sounds great, and the shape of that glass reminds me of the grail in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. “You have chosen… wisely.” 😁

Todd, all the Keweenaw Brewing Company beers I've tried come in very interesting cans, some including UP mining history.:thumbsup::cool:
The Red Jacket is a good one IMHO, with the "lightly hopped" being a key feature. Actually, I'm quite a fan of the Märzen-style Oktoberfest beers in general, and almost always find my first Oktoberfest while on vacation in the UP in August. Late last week, I noticed that Sam Adams Octoberfest had appeared in the local grocery store, so I have some of those in the fridge this week (along with some peanut butter stout). Old photo:

That Sam Adam's Octoberfest doesn't get enough credit. One of my favorites and I've had many. If you haven't yet, you gotta try the Brooklyn Oktoberfest.
