Looks like you’re living the life, Alain!

I didn't do anything formal like a Beer Advent Calendar for the holidays, but I often manage to snag some brews around this time of year that my wife gets me for Christmas or my birthday, which are less than a week apart. She usually gets me brands that I typically don't get for myself during the year, and she tends to get mostly porters and stouts, since she knows I end up liking most of those. One liquid gift she gave me was a 12-pack of 4 different kinds of stout from the Saugatuck (MI) Brewing Co. Here's one of them, their Neapolitan Milk Stout. I'm quite amazed that I can taste and/or smell all 3 of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry in this stout. Not my favorite stout, by any means, but it's certainly very drinkable and technically impressive (to a non-brewer like I am).

That’s certainly an interesting one, GT. Sounds like one of those things that has the potential to go really wrong, so I’m glad it was drinkable, even if it won’t be a new favorite. (I once had a Maple Bacon Ale, might be the worst beer I’ve ever had. Tasted like what I would assume the dirty dish water at a Waffle House would taste like.)

Last couple Utah beers tonight before we head back home. First up was Hop Nosh IPA from Uinta Brewing Co., a really good citrusy American IPA. 7.3% ABV, but you can’t tell. I’ve had some of Uinta’s other brews before (can’t remember if that was in AZ or MN), but this was my first time trying this one. If I can find it around me, it might become a regular.

After that, Epic Brewing’s Son of a Baptist Coffee Stout with Cacao Nibs. This beer smells incredible, and it tastes nearly as good as it smells. Dark, roasted malt and coffee, with a bit of bittersweet chocolate. 8.0% ABV. Really good stuff.
