Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

I've had a couple of these over the past week. Porter may well be my favorite beer. It's usually simple and honest without a lot of cutesy special flavorings. I don't know who the woman on the label is supposed to be; I'd have guessed porter was historically a working man's beer, but maybe it was the beer of choice for working girls, too. The label claims Founders Porter is dark, rich, and sexy. I'd certainly agree that it's dark, and I suppose it's pretty rich compared to the thin American lagers I drank when I first started drinking beer, but sexy is not a word I'd use to describe what I like about porters.

Jon, since you're a baseball fan, I'll ask you this tongue-in-cheek question: do you think that in Cleveland they now call the Indian River Jack the Guardian River Jack??

🤣🤣🤣 I would think so. I’ll have to ask a cop worker who’s from there tomorrow now
Me too! 🤣🤣🤣

Jon, have you selected your beers to celebrate the annual Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven MI starting today? ;)
I don't know if it's a big deal for the Coast Guard itself, but it is for the town of Grand Haven; festival organizers claim that it brings in 350000 visitors each summer!

A couple of nights ago I had my monthly IPA for July:
