Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Barbecue sauce! That's a great idea that I never even considered, Todd!🤓 Our daughter made a "lightning visit" home on Monday, and I was hoping she'd have a chance to try one, but she took a nap instead and then it was time to get her to the airport to fly back to St. Paul, MN.

Glad you got to see your daughter Gary, even though you didn’t get to have a beer together. Typically I’ll get a variety pack and it will have some IPA in it that I rarely like so those go into sauces. My buddy next door always laughs at me and says I’m the only guy he knows that will put an expensive IPA into a barbecue sauce while drinking a PBR! 🤣

Back when I first started drinking beer in college, PBR used to be my first choice. I thought it had a distinct and desirable flavor that I'd be able to identify in a "blind taste test" (never tried that though). Eventually, when I was in grad school and money was tight, I started buying beer based on low prices, eventually moving to Stroh's, then Old Style, then 30-packs of Milwaukee's Best Ice (for 10 or 12 bucks?? I don't remember). These days, I almost never drink a "pale American lager" like those.

Last night I had another Shiner product from my variety pack. I don't think I've ever had cold brew coffee, but this coffee ale is pretty good!

Some cheap Aussie red wine. I really like anything 19 Crimes come out with. I have tried to snag this bottle before and it’s always sold out. Being aged in rum barrels added a ton of flavor.
I've only had one of their wines Taylor, and I was really unimpressed 😝 You're certainly not alone in having a contrary opinion though my friend! :D

I was considerably less impressed by having to pay £6.50 a pint when I went out the other night! Since they were (unlawfully) using plastic 16 fluid ounce 'glasses', instead of 20 fluid ounce Imperial pint glasses, it was even more of a rip-off! 🤨

Hahah yea it’s cheap $8.99 swill. My buddy owns a winery and he just sends me this emoji when I show him I’m drinking it 🫣

Idk, I don’t really have a pallet for wines yet. I just know I like dry reds and the cheaper the better 🤣

I actually had some Taylor Beer the other day. It was a hazy IPA too! I just haven’t been into the IPA’s as much. I think it’s a cost thing. With everything going up in price I have been just sticking with the cheaper stuff I guess.

It's overpriced! :D ;)

Unfortunately, the emoji isn't showing my friend :(

Yes, we're all having to economise in different ways Taylor, the price of beer here has gone through the roof! But then so has the price of everything else! Nice to have a treat now and again though ;) :)

I tend to be a one-beer-a-day kind of guy. Here are the daily beers so far this week.
Sunday (my last Leinie Chocolate Dunkel, and it's a seasonal beer I don't see in the store anymore, so no more until at least next fall :():

Monday (vintage photo with vintage bottle design, but current Sam Adams Octoberfest is what I enjoyed):

Tuesday (this beer went very well with the pizza my wife hunted down while she was out and about and brought home):
