Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

The spiegelau glasses are nice and definitely well made. Do they make beers taste better? Probably not Haha, despite any of their claims. Ive got absolutely nothing agains drinking out of bottles or cans, and often do both, but I enjoy trying different styles and it adds to the hobby to drink a beer from its designated glassware. I will say the glasses allow for some nice beverage and blade pictures.
Perfectly explained. Thanks!

I think it's time for another [emoji16]

That is an outstanding haul:eek::thumbup: I'm really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on every one of those brews.

The only HighWater beer I've tried is the Campfire Stout, which is an amazing beer. I've been on the lookout for their Lemon Meringue ever since you posted it but haven't had any luck yet. A barrel aged brew with kiwi and kumquat sounds like a great combo!

The patina on your BSK is looking strong to quite strong:thumbup:

Best beer haul ever. The Sonoma River Calihazy was amazing. It was the best hazy IPA from the region I have had. It killed anything Moonraker has put out. The kumquat and kiwi was a pleasant surprise and I will definitely grab one again. Everything I have tried from Highwater was a hit. The KBS by Founders held up to it's reputations. It was a great stout. Had a lil to much boozy taste I don't enjoy but it was good. The Drakes Hops vice held up to it's name. Super hopped but definitely drinkable!! I'm about to crack the pineapple saison. Counsil kills the saisons and tarts.

Thanks for the compliments on the BSK it was on potato cutting duty and excelled.

Hi Dave, the only thing we ask of you is to admit you have a problem...[emoji482] [emoji12]

I'm not quite ready to make that admission. I never buy a Nifebrite before 5:00 p.m.

Thanks for the reviews, and congrats on your legendary beer score, tmd!!:thumbup:
I was especially interested in what you thought of the Founders KSB, since I live in the same city where Founders is located, and the KSB "annual release" is a big deal here. And I wasn't completely surprised by your evaluation mentioning the "boozy taste" you don't enjoy, because it's obvious from other comments that the more fruity beers appeal to you. I happen to have just the opposite taste, so I think some of the "boozier" ports and stouts are primo, but I'm not that fond of the fruitier offerings. (To tell the truth, I'm not all that impressed with IPAs in general, which certainly seem to be all the rage these days.) But, as I learned from davek14's signature once, de gustibus non est disputandum. Another West Michigan beer recently had its annual spring release, Bell's Oberon, and that always gets lots of play on local news and many of my friends get excited that Oberon is back. That was one of the first seasonal beers (besides Märzens) of which I was ever aware (although I don't always pay very close attention to cultural trends, so there may have been lots of earlier seasonal beers), and one of the first beers that I was aware advertised its fruity taste, but it just never did much for me. It's fantastic that we have so much variety these days, and aren't all stuck drinking traditional American lagers. I'll take the porters and stouts and double bocks, and you can have my share of the IPAs and fruitier fare! ;)

So today I had a porter for lunch, and since it was named after a ship, I thought I should picture it with a nautical knife. Here's a pic of my Rough Rider marlin spike with a bottle of Great Lakes' Edmund Fitzgerald Porter:

Gary, I'm so jealous of your location in relation to Founders and Great Lakes and Bell's I've not been disappointed with any of them.

Founders and Bells produce some great beers! I'm lucky enough to be able to get a wide offering of both down here in Tennessee. Sadly though Edmund Fitz is only available to me when we travel up to the family in Michigan every Christmas. Generally porters and stouts are my choice as well. But when it's hot out the All Day IPA quenches my thirst.

I just opened one of the best mail packages that I've received in a while. Big mahalo to tmd_87 for sending me this wonderful trio to sample all the way in Hawaii. I feel truly blessed to be able to "hang out" here with people like him and you all alike. This is truly one special place. Thanks again Taylor. You'll definitely see them posted here one by one in the days to come.
