Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Posing with my Hemlock "Green".

I had a bad run-in with Jager close to 10 years ago...let's just say I may have drank a whole bottle. I can't even smell it without a dry heave...LOL.

About a decade for me, too. On a "beach" next to polluted Lake Ponchartrain in New Orleans. I laid back and watched the stars split in half. Haven't touched the stuff since.

Today was "Christmas in July" at one of our favorite local brewery/restaurants, SanTan Brewing Company. They put up Christmas decorations (including a Christmas tree decorated with beer can ornaments), play holiday music, and tap a few reserve kegs of their Winter Warmer season (served with fresh baked ginger snap cookies). It's good stuff.

@WhittinAway. Thank you. Yes it is a leather pint sleeve. There is a local gentleman that makes them and commissions them to the bar. The blue and white are the outlines of an agate. That whole area is a very special place to me. I'm a rockhound, hiker, motorcycle tourer, so it's one of my favorite places to go.

You make some great mixed drinks. It's very inspiring. I need to branch out and try some of these concoctions.

Thanks for more information about your leather pint sleeve. I don't think I've ever seen one before. It's super cool!

Thanks for the compliments on the mixed drinks. I enjoy trying beverages of all sorts and it's fun to post some of the more unique ones here. Truth be told, water, black coffee, and black tea are my most frequent beverages and beer is my most frequent alcoholic beverage. But, why limit ourselves? :D

Great picture! May I please ask about the knife? I don't think I've ever seen that one before.

Good afternoon to stay out of the sweltering heat.

That CASE XX stamp on your lovely Barlow's bolster goes perfectly with that whiskey neat.

That Hemlock Green turned out so beautiful. Congrats on the acquisition.

I've seen you post the Flower Power before. I'm going to have to seek that one out the next time I'm on the East Coast.

I remember you posting about it last year. So fun! Thanks for sharing your pictures again this year. I also loved the picture you posted in the lounge with your daughter and Santa, BTW.

Too hot for outdoor activities....

I really dig this photo. I like how it moves from bright translucent beer up top to dark table and Barlow below. Beautiful.

Both beverage and blade look like they'd be great even in a Polaroid snapshot, though. ;)

I didn't know there was any other Texan Bock than Shiner. ;) Looks like you and your Speaker Jack have the makings of an enjoyable afternoon/evening ahead of you.

I'm enjoying the last of the four pack of Prairie Artisan Ales' Merica that I picked up a while ago. It's paired with a recently-acquired Hess Whitetail.

Yep, they brew Ziegen Bock in Houston Tx. Even has the likeness of Clay Henry the beer drinking goat and mayor of Lajitas Tx. The original Clay Henry is now a mount in a saloon, I believe Clay Henry III is knocking back the beers today. ;)

Ugghhh....... Too many beers to decipher who's knife is who's. So @WhittlingAway is sporting the Whitetail? I love my Whitetail. The sheath is a bit loose at the belt, but ortherwise quite serviceable. The knife itself is exceptional.
