It is official;

I am lost and confused, can someone translate the essence of this cluster please?
 
Lazy otter is on my block list before this incident. You must of done something that didn't appeal to me before. Hope everyone resolves this like adults.
 
I am also one of the people that sent money to the same paypal account on Friday for the Leatherman tti and was told it would ship next day, then I inquire if it shipped sat and was told the person with PayPal account has an issue but never said what it is! I have messaged both lazy otter and Clanton and no reply and setup paypal complaint but have heard NOTHING.
 
If the guy wants to sell, my opinion is that he should be able to accept payments himself. That means getting his own PayPal account if he wants to receive payments in that manner...otherwise, he should simply state bank check or money order only.

If this is in fact the situation, I don't see an issue with it AS LONG AS it's explained to the buyer and, the buyer understands that they are giving up PP protection to help out the seller.....
That's a real stretch, and it doesn't seem to me that any of this was explained to at least one buyer.

This is all so confusing that until Clanton clarifies, it's just a mess.
 
Three way deals should never be done in this fashion. If you want to buy someones goods do it directly. Having a third party pay for the items you want to buy creates issues. And then holding their gear ransom until you see that the items THEY payed for have shipped is ludicrous. It essentially allows only 1 person in the deal to have a total lack of accountability and if one piece of the puzzle goes missing everyone with the exception of that one person with nothing to lose are left wondering what happened. Honestly a paypal account has to be one of the easiest things in the world to set up and It amazes me that anyone would want to subject themselves to the headaches of doing what is being described in this thread.
 
After reviewing the 55 emails, 5 private messages and 2 paypal claims opened, this is the best explanation that I can give as to what lazy otter (Nick Reynolds) was trying to do:
He contacted me on 6/24 saying that he wanted to purchase 2 knives that I had for sale. He said that he did not have the money right now but was trying to get the money and I told him that I would hold the knives for him until he got the money, no problem. Normally I would not hold an item, but he told me that he was an injured vet and tight on money. He then told me that he would get friends and his father to pay for the knives.
Currently I have 4 payments from people that I thought were his friends or his father. I found out that he was selling on the forum and using my paypal in order to complete the purchases.
I got an email from lazy otter last night saying to send the money back to ruff111 who bought the leatherman and the rest goes to his girlfriend's paypal account because he said it was his money. In his email he stated "the money is mine and I need it back tonight or tomorrow also check the rules and you are not to contact people".

So now after the 55 emails and no that is not an extra 5, it's actually 55 emails from 6/24 til now and I still have all of them, this is what I am going to do:
I am going to refund the 4 people that sent money to my paypal account. Nothing was shipped and everyone will have their money back and hopefully this will be done.

So basically, lazy otter was using my paypal account to sell goods on the forum to fund his own purchases without my knowledge and I hope this clears it up for everyone. I am chalking this up to a lesson learned and another for the ignore list. If anyone has any questions please feel free to send me a PM.

I agree 100%.


If you want to purchase something, make sure you have the funds to do it. (that's rule #1 in the buying/buyers section of the Exchange Rules and also a good rule of thumb for this little thing called life)
If you need to sell stuff first that's fine but sell it first before committing to buy and holding up other peoples sales.

Very odd antics in some GBU threads as of late.
 
Wow. Very bizarre thread. Lazy otter, this is completely unethical behaviour from you. If you had everyone's consent to do this complex deal, then it wouldn't be a problem. However, the issue is that you did not tell anyone what you were doing.

Perhaps you should get your own PayPal account to avoid future problems. Are you doing this to avoid paying the 3% PayPal fees? Has PayPal cancelled your account or something?
 
Very simple question. If his girlfriend has a pay pal account why not just use it? Why not get your own? Plenty of credit unions around that have no fees at all for a checking account and no minimum balance.

I have done a 3 way trade before. It was a little more complicated and all three parties knew exactly what was going on and when. All went fine. That type thing takes extra trust with all involved and very good communication.
 
Lol.....this is all so way off but I guess if you start the threD your Automaticlly right....I told him it would ship Monday is it Monday and I do have more than one multitloll so if everyone woulda just waited till Monday these people would have got their multitools .....but yall whinned like a bunch of bitches and accuse me with our even hearing my side which is I said I'd mail on monday whinny bit bitches just want your shit now well sorry it would have all been mailed Monday yalls loss

Perfect! That is what I would do too. Refund from whom you received funds from. Hopefully Lazy Otter hasn't shipped either. WOW:eek:
 
It would reflect better on the seller if he could communicate his side of things without resorting to name calling and vulgar language.

Watch your language. You are displaying exactly the characteristics these people have claimed of you. The issue is not when the items will ship. The issue is all the shadiness in your dealings. You clearly don't understand that though......

Why not write in complete, grammatically correct sentences that we don't have to struggle to parse?
 
Wow. all this friends and family lies to fund some knife purchase. Disabled vet or not this is all wrong.
 
Sorry my grammer isn't perfect but when you have head injury you have to live with because of a bullshit war and you take an injury you may not be the best speller or writer!
