Beware Md 25V Ripped Me Off!

From either end as well please. Level was a nice touch. While you got the mount off maybe a shot of the holes for the mount on the barrel? Similar to pic 1 post 11 but without the mount?

You've posted that you know Md 25v, and I can appreciate your wanting to help him out here, but I've already posted several pics from either end of the rail. I could take pics of it all day, and it will never show a bend. Is anyone else having a problem seeing that the rail is straight?

There was a statement that "Freedom of Spech" prevented legal recourse for claimed defamation.

"Freedom of speech" is God-Given right to be free of government interference with speech. The Constitution reminds the federal government not to pass laws interfering with that right.

If you tell others that a man is a crook or liar knowing that statement to be false or with reckless disregard for its truth and if that statement causes that person to be injured, you have violated his right under the civil law not to be defamed. He can sue for actual and punitive damages. In some states, he can he his attorney fees.

Do not think that "freedom of speech" protects from slander and liable. It does not - thankfully.

I thought I would throw my $.02 out here.

First when you received the rifle a competent gun smith should have looked at before it reached your hands taking away any "you did it" statements. At that point the gun smith can decide if shipping was the cause or not if any problems are present.

Second, after the gun smith checked it over then a trip to the range making sure it fired a-Ok. After that if you had any issue's a email/phone call to the seller would have been in order to let him know you were un-happy.

To the seller, if all that was done I believe a refund would be in order, a deal is not complete un-less all parties involved are happy.

Threatening with "I will will bash your name" or "I will talk to my attoney" never seems to work, just gets everyone involved pissed off and no where.

This is just my opinion, hope all works out for you both.

I agree. I felt it was only fair to inform Md 25v that there would be consquences, and I communicated that only after it was clear what his intentions were, and all else had failed.
I have some more pics of the rail ready, but my permission to post attachments is "off".
Again, I'm taking time to do this so that this type of thing doesn't happen again. The number one rule of keeping a good online sales rep is to accurately describe your item. The buyer counts on the seller for this, and the seller must make good on all expenses if the item is not as described, whether he was aware of the issues or not. I wonder how many people don't buy online anymore because of bad experiences like this? Personally, I cherish the liquidity that online markets provides us all. When the market is infected with dishonesty, all of us suffer for it. If it is ignored, it will get worse. I believe it's each individuals responsibility to defend his community, online or otherwise.

Md 25v is a fraud.
In the emails I have from him, his signature on each one contains his name, with "Maryland Amphibian & Reptile Atlas" underneath. Sounds pretty credible, huh? I went to the site, and sent them an email. The coordinator of the organization is a university professor who just replied that they have never heard of him. He has never worked for them, not even as a volunteer.
He lists his occupation as "biologist" here, and as a "biological surveyor" on another forum.
I would be happy to post the email with the mods' permission.

It does show in new posts, but this is a busy website. Nothing stays on the first page of the new posts list for long.

You still haven't proved anything other than "you think", and "you see".

Regardless of the emails, the rifle looks fine in your photos. I don't see the damnable issues.

You can continue to post pix the same way you've been doing it. (You can't upload directly to the Bladeforums servers instead of using photobucket unless you become a member; that's all.)

Ron, are you blind?

No, not in the least bit. A blind and foolish man would be much more accomidating to you, unlike now. Your photo's are far from quanitative. Do you honestly believe they are of the quality that would make every line up behind you?

No precision straight edges used, no precision measuring devices used, just off angle shots and out of focus depth prospective.

You want to buy the thing? I'll make you a hell of a deal on it. Otherwise, go bag on someone else.

I don't know the situation other than what you have presented. And I can't see the evidence.

If you can't handle the comments, or provide the physical evidence than maybe you are the one here to "bag on" people.

Guys, I've got to go prep my car for a track event tomorrow, so I'll have to check back when I get time. Ron, please go post your nonsense somewhere else.

I found this thread from the new posts on the front page of the site. I agree with Ron, I can't see the issues. It may just be that I don't know what to look for, as a don't own too many firearms.

+1. Not seeing anything at all in those pics. Not that there isn't a bend...but it isn't apparent in the pictures.

I think everyone has given the OP plenty of attention and patience, especially for an issue that happened on another forum.

After rereading this several times, I think I found one sentence in post #19 that describes the issue:
According to the best assessment of my gunsmith, and myself, the taps for the scope rail were not drilled in the proper location, causing the mount to cant off center.

Is this the case? Are all those pictures to show that the rail is straight? I'm not sure what you are trying to show/prove.

How about showing the tapped holes in the rifle to see if they are actually out of alignment? You can use something like wood dowels to show how straight they were tapped.

Unless this isn't what your complaint is.

I agree.

Perhaps the time has come for the OP to submit the rifle to an independent bona fide professional gunsmith for a written evaluation.
That way the true problem is revealed........not conjecture.
