Beware of Edgeweapons.com

Just an update...Today I DID get a confirmed pickup notice from the FedEx tracking # sent to me 3/12. The shipment went out TODAY and will be delivered 3/20. This is a good thing, not necessarily good business practice, but a good thing nontheless. I just really want my knife and better late than never. Still no communication from edgeweapons with an explanation/apology but at this point I'll take the knife. Hope it's the right one........:rolleyes: Laters, Greg
 
Greg, glad to hear that at least "something" is headed your way via Fed Ex. Unfortunately I have not heard from Edgeweapons.com today and they were supposed to send me an email with a tracking number for Overnight Fed Ex on that knife. It looks as if I've been lied to for a third time.:grumpy: Shell does not seem to have any shame at all.
 
Sodbuster, try clicking on the FedEx tracking link(links) you got in the past from them. That's how I found out mine was picked up at 11:52 today in Rochester, NY. The link was originally sent to me 3/12! There was no other notice and I mainly clicked on it out of frustration. Laters, Greg

I wanted that solid handle Mini Rung Sat too, but I knew it was Edgeweapons.

Don't E-mail him about this thread until you get your knives.

Sod Buster already E-mailed him about this thread.

Let us know what he says about combinding the 2 for a shipping charge of $8.
 
now I would never do it, but if I got screwed on a deal like this I might be tempted to report these auctions which are in clear violation of ebay's (lame) rules....by going to this link.

Enough violations and they can kick them off.

Well Rgray, I haven't stolen the knife yet :rolleyes:

My concern is getting myself stuck in the same situation where I've sent money and am waiting on knives. I plan to use Paypal so I have some recourse and I'd like to let these guys know that I am aware of problems. I plan on going very cautiously with them and I'll keep Y'all abreast of how things go...

If you think using Paypal will give you any recourse search this forum for "Paypal," and if that isn't enough evidence to convince you search the whole net.

I was just notified by E-bay that his Dalton (a Mini Cupid which is E-bay legal) which I was bidding on hard been removed.

I checked the rest of his Daltons and they were removed too.

Before this happened, I E-mailed him asking the condition of the knife.

I want to see if he E-mails me back anyway.

Ya beat me to it RGray. I was checking out some of his other auctions too and saw all of them have been removed. I wonder if he'll honor my two wins.

Cougar, When my choices consist of sending a Check, a Money Order, or Paypal I think the latter has the best chance of being resolved in my favor if something should go wrong. I'm a member of Paypal (though after doing some more reading I may not) and I've had to dispute charges twice. Both times I won and my money was returned.

I'm open to suggestions as to how to handle them with my auction wins. Too many variables...Bad reputation here, Problems on Ebay, Attempts to gouge me on Shipping. Hell, he ought to just send me the knife and be done with it.

Well boys my agony is finally over. My Brend blade TR-3 came via Fed Ex on an overnight shipment as promised. Although it took three weeks for them to make good on the auction fair is fair and I do have to commend Edgeweapons for attempting to kiss and make up by including a Guardfather OTF and a imitation pearl bolster release Italian stiletto in the package along with my knife. In conclusion I would have to say that this outfit is not crooked just unorganized as hell and really needs to work on their communication skills as well.

And did not get back to me on JC III's solid handle Mini Rung Sat before the auction ended.

But it looks like he's not a crook. :)
 
GREAT news Sodbuster!:) I think "unorganized as hell" is probably the correct summation. I tried to tell Shell that better communication would be a good start to improved customer satisfaction, especially if there's a problem. My auction item is moving right along, according to the tracking link. Scheduled delivery date is 3/20, 17 days after the auction closed. But hey, "thieves" they're not. Laters, Greg

I HAVE DEALT WITH EDGEWEAPONS.COM SEVERAL TIMES. I WILL TELL YOU GUYS===YOU WILL RECIEVE YOUR KNIVES, BUT BE PREPARED TO WAIT A GOOD WHILE TO GET THEM. AS FAR AS EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS===DONT EVEN BOTHER,THEY WONT RESPOND. THIS GUY MUST HAVE A BUSY SCHEDULE AND PUT HIS KNIFE BUSINESS IN 2ND PLACE. BUT ANYWAY, THEY HAVE COME THRU FOR ME THE COUPLE OF TIMES I HAVE DEALT WITH THEM, IT JUST TAKES A WHILE TO SHIP.
 
:rolleyes: I have a big problem with people who charge 12 bucks for shipping and then take three weeks to get the product out while outright lying to you about shipping dates in the process. It is obvious that Edgeweapons.com are engaged in preselling items on an auction site they do not actually have in stock. There are too many people on this fourm including yourself that have had this problem for it to be anything else. Oh, and they don't have one bit of shame doing it either because I actually received an email from them today asking me to provide positive feedback :eek: I had to threaten to get them banned from selling on Blade Auction in order to get a response from them and now they want postive feedback??? :barf:

Thats the bad news, the good news is I saved over 200 dollars. But anyway,, I knew what I was getting into having dealt with them b4.
 
Well, Edge Weapons finally responded to my questions about the two auctions I won. I'd asked them if it were possible to combine the two knives into one shipment. They agreed.

Now, my problem is that I'm concerned about ever receiving my knives (or my money back). I've noticed that they have been banned by Ebay (not a big deal) and they've not been getting too good a reputation around here.

I'd really like to get the knives as they were a great buy but I'm not too interested in getting ripped off. I plan to use Paypal in the hopes of refuting the charges should it come to that. My questions are: should I go ahead and send them the money? Are there any precautions I can take?

My anxiety was quite high when this thred was in its infancy because of the fact that I had sent $ for two knives already and did not hear any responses to a couple of e-mails(about shipping two knives for the price of one,which I did regardless of the lack of communication).:confused:

As the thread became longer and other forumites weighed in on the topic with usually negative comments I started to feel that I might have possibly been duped(to add to my dilemna I paid with an M.O):rolleyes:

However,I did receive my knives three weeks later.:p
I was happy with the deal but am weary of doing business with them again.(The Protech Magic had some inconsistentcies on the blade):grumpy:

I think they will send the knives but when and in what condition,I'm not sure.In all fairness,the second knife was in perfect shape.
