Beware of purchasing knives form A.G. Russell (I don't know what I'm talking about)

Once, I bought a knife from AG Russel.

It came fast. It was nice. The fit and finish were fantastic. Solid, well built, and a great knife. It was a fantastic value. It was his large version of a sodbuster (called their cowboy model I think).

Beware, AG might just sell you a great knife, and you will keep wanting more.

From reading those websites don't think the OP even handles most if not all the knives he "reviews," much less thoroughly tests them. I think he collates data (probably culled from AG Russell and manufacturer's websites), writes a quick "review" (based on steel and handle material and the locking mechanism -- and the weight. His reviews always harp on the weight of a knife) and then provides pictures. If you click on the picture of the knife, it takes you to the knife's entry on Amazon. If you end up buying the knife from Amazon after clicking on the link, the OP gets a small kick back from Amazon.

I suspect OP was using AG Russell's website to help write his "reviews".

I got the same impression. The reviews read like they were written by someone with very little actual knife knowledge. I feel bad for the people who are actually trying to learn and get routed to sites like these.

Doc Trout appears to have disappeared. Why hasn't he responded to this posts? His website doesn't accept messages. His knives "reviews" are on his "sites". Two total. Where are the other 148+ reviews he writes he has done. Sounds like a self-promoter. A troll.

This looks like the most likely answer. He may have done the same on other knife websites, looking to bring people to his website.
