Duplicate. BF is a great forums, but it has quirks, like this double posting. Patience is a virtue.

Don't like to tell you this emoney but you are completely at fault. Your fault the package didn't get delivered because you put the shipping label on a box you cannot send through Parcel and because you didn't refund the seller and pretty much attempted to force him to still buy it after you messed up mailing it. Gotta learn the postage rules man. All this could have been avoided easily. I don't ship parcel anymore unless i have something enormus to ship or very very heavy. You should have shipped this in a padded flat rate envelope. Would have cost $5 and got there fast. Sorry but Rturbo is in the clear here. I don't understand why you think he did something wrong? Had every right to be angry after awhile, and why force him to still take it after shipping error was your fault and he didn't want it anymore?

Thank you, sir. At the time these messages were wrote I did not know I was at fault. Again, I was told by my wife, via text, who received the returned package, that the label was ripped. You can see by the picture of the package that the RTS label is indeed ripped. She does not ship things, nor does she care to be bothered by my knife obsession. I had not laid eyes on the package until this morning. While writing rturbo I was under the impression that the PO ripped the label. It wasn't until this morning that I was able to investigate with my mailman why it was returned to me. By that time, the dispute was filed and feedback was left by rturbo. I told him several times that I would address it as soon as I could. I would have been more than happy to work with him had he given me some time that I needed due to work schedule. The shipping was my fault, but I did not have an opportunity to rectify it. After several exchanges, I did not want to work with rturbo on a refund. In my eyes at the time, the item was as described and the PO error was not my fault. There is no reason not to be able to discuss things like gentlemen, when I woke to his first message it set the tone for the rest of the conversation. It's the golden rule plain and simple.

This is not so much about issuing refunds or who is at fault. It's about giving people time to investigate, communicate, and make things right before flaming them and open disputes with paypal. I believe most people here have jobs, families, and other priorities that come before BF.
Anyone else that wishes to comment, please read the thread, and understand the issues I have. All I wanted and needed was a day to see what was up. I did not have time in the 7.5 hours between shifts, including sleep and travel, to look into this Monday night. Like I said, I worked 16 hours yesterday and 12 the day before. I'm not making excuses, but I didn't have time between shifts to look into this.
And BTW, unless rturbo has read this thread, he still does not know it's my fault. He thinks I am trying to scam him.

What is this world (BFC world) coming to.

Now a member has a stroke over a day delay in shipping a freaking canteen!! Did the canteen contain a heart for a transplant?
Come on!!!!!!!! Civility is what BFC has always been about. If you cannot act like a gentleman or lady go deal on Ebay or Craigs list and stay the XXXX out of the exchange.

Phew!! Rant mode off.................................time for a Xanax

A member who leaves NEGATIVE FEEDBACK over something of this nature is a member to be avoided at all cost

While trying to push someone to buy something after they request a refund is poor form, I deal with impatient buyers through my job and know how frustrating that can be. I cannot stand people who write a scathing email demanding a refund for part or all of something because it arrived a day or two later than they thought it should (especially when they only paid for standard slow shipping). They mostly just remind me of a child throwing a tantrum to get their way.

If buyers won't accept anything less than instant gratification, they should only shop at brick and mortar stores.

I agree. I regret losing my cool with him, but after telling him 3 times I would refund his money if he would give me a day or two to look into it and all I was getting back were accusations of me being a crook or scam artist I had enough. Poor form on my part, lesson learned for the future.

Not taking sides but maybe an extra email during this time would have helped the situation. I work 7am-5pm and then 7pm-11pm everyday and even longer Fridays but if I have something going on I'm always available especially to shoot a quick "I'll look into it tomorrow" email. I hope this gets resolved and both parties learn something out of this...

This is interesting. Please help me understand. Was there something in my messages that wasn't clear about me being at work and assuring him I would address it as soon as I could. I told him to look for his refund in a day or two. Was that not clear enough?

Honesty brother if you had time to reply you had time to refund, thats kind of the point. It doesn't take many steps to log on to PayPal and to issue a refund. To tell a guy you'll refund and it takes you days to do it is honestly a little rude. I know I would have been mad. Did he pay you in days or within minutes of him saying he'd take?

Did you read the PMs or the rest of this thread man? Have you ever tried to issue a refund through the PayPal app? You can't. I know this because I logged onto the app to view the transaction. I did not have access to a computer...again due to work. Come on! I have never issued a refund before and I wanted to see how the shipping charge was going to be handled before refunding him, I wanted to actually see the returned package. Why is that rude or unreasonable? Why would I be polite to a man that told me he was going to flame me before even giving me a chance to refund him? Is it unreasonable to ask for less than 24 hours to get home and check things out? WTF?

And since when are refunds standard procedure around here or anywhere else? Ever to tried to get a refund from craigslist? A yard sale? Buying a used car from an individual? I would never ask anyone on here for a refund unless the item was grossly misrepresented. If I make an impulse buy, I simply resell the item. I am a freaking nurse, I'm not a retail shop, I don't have a customer service department. When you buy something for an individual all sales are final as far as I'm concerned. I guess that will have to be a new disclaimer on my sale threads.
