BF W&S knife Ironwolf list

I'm really looking forward to mine because I ordered blades and I want to get to work finishing mine. I have all the stuff I need except the blades.

Ironwolf thanks for the heads up. Don't bother trying to ship today it is a federal holiday.

Hey guys. I just got back home last night. I have been out on welding jobs. I was upset, to find that the knives were still at home. I had expected them to have been dropped off last monday. I don't know what to say to you, I should have taken them all with instead, and tried for a long lunch break to ship them out.

It is ten til 9 right now, I wil be heading to town in about half an hour. I will make sure everything goes well this time.

Again, I don't know what to say, I am sorry, I am frustrated, I will do what I can.

When I get back, or perhaps this evening, I will respond to everyone who has sent me an e-mail.

Ken

Thanks for the update Ken. Understand that things happen. They happen to me all the time.:o The wait time will be a lot easier with feedback. Everyone will understand as long as we know what is going on.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

What holiday is that? Isn't next Monday the Veteran's Day holiday, the Monday following Nov 11?

As for the knives shipping, I'm with the guys who say don't sweat it. I don't need instant gratification.

OK...OK... Ken called me today. He is very sorry that the PAID knives did not get out. Things happen. He assured me that all PAID knives will go out by Mon/Tue of next week. Lets be patient folks. Ken took on a big project, and he has a great reputation on BF. Lets give him some time to sort things out, and I'm sure we all will have knives soon enough.

I recieved my knife today. Thanks Ken, but I was disapointed to see the knife was not a single bevel scandi grind. My knife came with a secondary bevel.

Bummer.

How much of one? I mean is it a steep bevel or could you knock it out?? I had the same problem with a Ranger I got. I ordered a Ranger Shiv with a scandi grind and it had a sort of semi hollow ground scandi bevel and then a big secondary bevel that was steep and near impossible to grind out.

Wonder if he would accept a return for refund? Or take it back and make it an actual scandi grind?

You know when I saw that picture of all the blades he posted I almost thought that I saw the glint of a secondary on the scandi ones.

I was going to ask about it then but he's been so uncommunicative I figured I'd probably get the blade before I got an answere:rolleyes:

I'm going to be really dissapointed if mine are like that and I'm going to want a refund or to have them reworked by him:(

If I wanted a bushcraft style blade with a regular grind I'd have gone for one.

HD,
I also had a strange feeling about the grind, I too thought I saw a glint of a secondary bevel in the photo. It sad, but my is not a glint, it a profound secondary bevel.

Hmm, that's too bad. I would assume he could regrind them? i ordered the flat ground version myself, hope it arrives today too.

I got 1 of my 2 knives today, hopefully the other will come tomorrow.

Edit to add
I recieved the Scandi blade today. It has a very distinct secondary bevel on it. I will not be sending it back though. These are customs and this is Ironwolfs interpetation of a Scandi grind. The fit and finish on the knife are fairly good. The handle work is excellent, the tip on mine is slightly discolored, probably from the heat of grinding and dosn't apear as if it will affect the knifes use at all. The knive does seem to have the look as if they were rushed though. I like the stamp and also the fact that he numbered the knives, mine is 15 of 32 if I remember correctly.

The sheath is good and is also stamped, that was a nice touch. I have a question about sheath maint if someone can answer it for me.
The leather facing inside the sheath is very rough and after only drawing the knife a few times, I can see where this will cause major wear on the handle in short order. Is there any way of smoothing it down without loosing the handle retention of the sheath?

I just received my knives today...I see exactly what you're talking about. Try hot-waxing the inside of the sheath a little; where the handle will slide into.
I don't mean dip the entire sheath into the hot wax (but, why not?)....ya know what, on second thought hot wax the whole sheath. It'll help with all the fuzzy (inside) leather.
