I agree completely. I'm thankful to have the chance to buy these knives that are coming with operation two weeks and the Battle Grades. When something isn't for me I simply don't order it and move.on.

My sentiments, exactly.

Thank you for that, I really mean it Thank you.
I have thought about posting "if you do not have something nice to say" but it effects my business.

Thank you again George.

As a thank you for you doing good and being positive
I want to give you a free sheath :)

Send me a list of what you need and I will pick one that is made ready to ship and it is yours

You are a good man, David Brown. That is all.

Was going to say the same. Some very disrespectful so called hogs. People that Jerry has let into his shop. Cry babies that if they can't have their boring 13 they want nothing at all. Don't like what coming out/was wanting something else, buy some materials and make your own f#{king knives instead of sh!ting all over what you personally don't like the shop offering this week. Disrespectful.

Disrespectful? Shi!!ing all over it? Just because I don't like one particular knife, and have the temerity to say so? Please. Are only sycophantic statements allowed here now? I think Jerry is a big boy, and can handle opinions that are less than enthusiastic.

btw, if you were talking to me, I have never been in his Shop.

First off I have been a fan of Busse blades for decades. I believe people should not be negative, in the intro threads. However I think constructive criticism is a good thing. One example is the release with the D-guard handle. Not everyone can have that kind of blade, due to stupid laws, but people spoke out and we got the awesome talon guard.

These blades are like works of art, and you should have a gut reaction to them. I would be more concerned if a new blade came out and the reaction was "meh" new same boring designs.

Let's drink

Thank You George and I will +1^^^ with Dave about "If you don't have something Nice" Just move along...

Thanx Again

Mike

One of the great things about Jerry and his crew at Busse Combat knives is that, instead of selling a few plain vanilla models that appeal to the widest possible audience (which he could do and do very well at), he is not afraid to give free reign to his imagination and offer his unique creations to those of us lucky enough to have discovered (for ourselves) this (sometimes apparently mad - See "Nuclear Seahorse") genius. This is an unusual business model in that it deliberately forgoes a mass customer base and seeks to sell his limited edition creations to what is invariably a sub-set of his 'followers'. Not every Hog, Piglet, Dog, Rat or surfing passer-by will need, want, have use for or be able to afford his latest masterpiece. Some will have relatively wide appeal and some won't, 'nature of the beast' as it were, an inevitable result of his unique approach to making and selling his knives.
I personally find quite disturbing the apparent need to 'defend' a man that doesn't need it and stifle 'dissent' which seems to be defined as 'Anyone that doesn't agree with me'. Jerry has been very successful at all this for a very long time and is a big boy. He can take criticism and has even shown response to suggestions made as to what he might offer in future releases. The very purpose of this and, really, any forum is the free exchange of ideas. A place to have discussions and offer opinions. Free speech is not free and I am not speaking of our folks in uniform. We are free to speak our minds but must accept the consequences of our actions. I will express my opinion, accept that not everyone will agree with me, do my best to avoid disparaging those that do disagree, and try not to think much less of those that sound like trolls. I like to think of that aproach as being something resembling a mature adult. YMMV

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.........

I understand that some people wrote things that were not as constructive as they should've been conveyed since the same people are always posting things everyday and all over the forum, it can be said that there is a mutual relationship between the users on this forum as Hogs, Dogs, or Rats and sharing their affinity for all things BUSSE COMBAT.

With that being said, we are all adults and unfortunately some people just try to stretch their whole "freedom of speech" right by being a little too candid on a keyboard and in the comfort of their homes. I can put my whole collection that if we were all in a room and Jerry shows up with the WTF, all the nay sayers will have to eat their words because they wouldn't dare say nothing disrespectful in front of the man......

I understand that as consumers, everybody is entitled to an opinion and I know that Jerry as a successful businessman understands that and it shouldn't bother him cause I can guarantee he has heard worse, and his products will always sell out......
He can right now put out a paperweight made of INFI and people will still go crazy and buy it, because it's not just about the product, it's also about the man behind the product like Buy Brown, Chuddy Bear, Patriot Leather, and Rainwalker.......

My two cents. Thanks for the post!

For those who were disrespectful: No one wants to hear your shaving cream. Get with the program or get the heck out! Thank you.

If the only thing we can say is something nice then this is pretty much a waste of time. Why bother, if the only thing we're going to read is how each new offering is clearly the best thing since one hour martinizing? I own and have owned several Busses. Personally, I need this WTF like a fish needs a bicycle. I just don't see a use for something too heavy to carry, oddly shaped, needlessly large for it's purpose, and IMHO ONLY, pug fuggly.
I really like my AMS, carry it every day. I think the ASHBM is a wonderfully executed design, gets lots of use. This WTF? Not so much. Frankly, I'm not sure why that sort of feedback would be offensive to anyone.

Strike my last
Jerry will address this thread shortly.

Thanks George. I agree fully. Every Wednesday I am excited whether the blade is for me or not. It's a busse and it's for someone and next week there will be another!

To those who posted here with innapropriate language...
You have 15 minutes to clean up the foul language before the infractions start coming out.
Starting now...

For a group that uses acronyms for knives like SLUT, WTF, etc. ???? Where is the line on being inappropriate drawn?

I love it. Pure dedicated chopper.

Too heavy to cary? Don't know, have not seen a weight. But probably less than my KZII combined with the hand full of other knives and axes I've lugged.

Less than my FBMLE, Ash CG, SS and gw I've carried all at once.

Boss Hogg did not declare this as a high speed, low drag, jump out of an airplane, climb over the Himalayas, and kick evil in the teeth knife.

No one expects to carry this on a trek across the Appalachian trail, or the North West Passage.

But I bet it weighs less than my battle axe, poll axe, or sword, so I can happily leave those at home. They don't fit in my pack very well!

This design has me checking my PayPal balance, and itching to chop. It will probably kick my other dedicated chopper out (KZII).

I don't think the design is ugly, in fact, I was pumped to see a tall long blade. Especially a with an edge that appears to drop lower than the guard and handle.

It's like having a Chuckette, and whining that it is too heavy.

If you don't like it, that's fine. Just don't buy one. I promise it will be gone from the site fast. We used to wait forever between available knives. Now the Boss is pumping them out faster than I can believe, and people still find reason to Whine. "Too big, too small, my pants are wet and smell of urine!"

I've looked at many designs and thought "I'd never have a use for that...." or that handle looks wrong, or some thing about a design strikes me as off. But everything about this knife makes me happy.

Distal taper, and hand shaped handles (which I can do my self). Oh, and a full hand guard, and a pirate flag logo, and a double shotgun built in, so when I board another ship I can blast sailors! (Ok, I guess I don't really need any of that, except the hand shaped handle which I may do).

It reminds me of trying to cook for picky children.

Busse and crew, keep up the good work!

At Busse Combat we have worked very hard over the past 34 years to make the customer's experience the most positive of all.

We love designing and making knives and we want to keep the "Fun" in the hobby.

We go to great lengths to accomplish this. When we get together at shows, the atmosphere is more like a family reunion than a trade show.

We think of and treat our customers like close friends and family. We share in the joy and the heartbreak that life brings and we wouldn't want it any other way.

So, what do we do?

I really don't care if someone wants to share their constructive criticism or negative opinions with me. I welcome them, as I often learn from them or can explain why a particular design or feature is the way it is.

However, there is a place and time. This forum, during an intro of a new model, is NEITHER the place nor the time!

Many folks are excited about getting the latest model and the negative crap does nothing more than to diminish that experience for the customer.

I will not tolerate our customer's positive experiences to be diminished by someone's overwhelming need to post snarky or negative comments. . . . PERIOD!

So, here's the deal. From now on, if anyone has a negative opinion or snarky comment that they would like to share, then share it with me directly. You can email me at jerry@bussecombat.com or call me at (419) 923-6471 and feel free to tell me your thoughts, call me names, or just growl and snort for a few minutes,. . . . I'm okay with that. You won't hurt my feelings and I may even tell you that I think you're an idiot, but in the end we'll still be friends.

I welcome all of your opinions but not when they have the potential to rain on the customer's parade.

Let's Drink!

Jerry
:D

Boss, I've never seen a company that was as kind hearted, generous, and frankly, just plain fun and enjoyable to be associated with as Busse and crew.

It's everything I enjoy about the hobby.

Thanks.

This one won't be for me, but that's merely a case of economics over preference. I can't buy em all. But that being said, the knife world is one of follow the leader. Everybody copies everyone else's successful designs ad nauseam.

Occasionally, someone comes up with something completely new... This isn't an easy task given the amount of makers out there nowadays. It takes vision and courage to do so. Jerry Busse has it. We all benefit from it. I appreciate the hell out of it!

Busse Combat defines an entire genre of knives... "hard use"... Keep up the great work Bossman!

Lets drink!

.

WHAT HE SAID....the last part...

Not much to add (not that my opinion matters), but there are a lot of things to like about Busse and kin, the products and the company. But I think one of the biggest values of Busse the company is the boss himself - how many other companies can you interact directly with the boss and chief designer, and actually get a listen! Awesome!

Well said Jerry-Keep pumping out those beautiful Blades, and Thanks for the soon to be Iconic WTF

For a group that uses acronyms for knives like SLUT, WTF, etc. ???? Where is the line on being inappropriate drawn?

I edited my post, but since you ask, refer to George Carlin's 7 words, it covers it pretty well...
This rule has never changed, and it is a general BladeForums rule outside Whine & Cheese.
In addition, Jerry has always said that this specific forum is a "Family Friendly" forum. Keep in mind that ANYONE 13 and over can have an account here, and that children can read over shoulders.
Along with other inappropriate language, there's been too many F bombs in here recently...

+1 OP and thank you Jerry! Boss, no matter what you release it is always a pleasure to view your work and creativity. I love all things sharp and you have made my normally stressfull humpdays exciting and fun. It feels like a little mini Christmas every week, and even though I can't afford to get every single release it's still fun to some times window shop.
