Big ass knives...bowie, survival, combat, bushcraft...just big ass knives!

No recognition for the knifemaker?

No sorry. He's a good friend and a very good knifemaker. Not subjecting him to any of the drama shit that goes on in here. Just came in here to post pic of the knife on the thread that I started. That's all!

Did you choose the beveled sides of the sawtooth design? Or did you leave it up to the maker?

Gaston

The maker actually chose to do the serrations and bevel like this. I was wanting them done a different way...One where they would grab the wood better when sawing.

I wanted them done more in line with the Lile or Martin MCE style. I have to say that at first I was not too happy with the way he did the serrations area. But he assured me that he tested them to saw and they work decent.

But the bevel and serrations have grown on me and I like the fact that it's different. There are enough makers out there who's trying to do Exact Lile knife copies.

And it downright gets ridiculous at times. But it is what it is and since Jimmy Lile has passed on, which the knife world suffered a great loss there. Still, at the same time I think it Is awesome that there are knifemakers out there who are trying to give people a feeling of owning a handmade First Blood or Rambo Mission movie knife.

This knife was made with 2 things in mind: To see if at least an All One Piece Rambo style could be made...And to have a beautiful yet hardcore Rambo style knife made in honor of POWs and MIAs that were left in Vietnam. And if someone likes it along the way enough to inquire about getting one made for them...Well, that would be a big plus too! And if not, then that is also fine!

The main thing is that as long as I like what I have made for me, then that is all that counts...The rest is just "Gravy" as they say.

A lot of Very very nice Big Ass Knives that are posted in here!! Congrats to all of the owners of them!!

Someone the other day had asked me what of my knives did I actually use since the knife pics that I posted looks new and unused.

Well, my go-to knife is my Aitor Jungle King 1. It is All scratched up from use. It's the Black coated one. I also use an Aitor NATO Bowie knife as my smaller yet strong go-to knife. It is All scratched up from use too.

I will get these out and post pics of them later today, especially if further requested. I want to get another Aitor Jungle King 1 knife soon...But the Silver one. I will buy another one soon.

.

Chris Reeve has been making one piece hollow handled knives for years (doesnt Schrade make one now), so, clearly it can be done.

And as for inquiring about getting the knife made...then why wont you say who made it?

I was thinking the same Marci. Seems weird that DM wouldn't want to name the maker.

Ya know Cray......I don't have any Big Butt Knives, feeling a bit left out here, and would be interested in this maker's work.

Especially after he said it would be good if others asked to have one made. Oh well.....

It's not that I don't Wanna name the maker...It's just that he's not fully ready for business yet and asked me to not give out any information on him yet because he is actually not sure if he wants to make knifemaking a customer-oriented business yet.

He let me know this After I came and posted about him making others a knife like this. There was a miscommunication between us and I thought he was ready for me to offer his knives. But he's not quite ready yet.

He said he will let me know, and then he wants me to share full information about him. But I can say that he makes very good knives.

I am fully aware of the One Piece knives made by Chris Reeves. And I really like the longer blade ones.

Used to be all about Schrade knives as a kid! I loved the LB7 Lockback they made which resembled the Buck 110.

Not sure about the quality of Schrade Knives today! I did own the one by them that looked similar to Chris Reeves' One Piece knives. But I gave it to a friend as a gift.
