Fans of Bowies and Big Ass Knives may appreciate this documentary. The last blade in the flick is truly epic:

My friends dad made this for me out of 5160. 1/4 thick. The sheath is Elk as is the sinew used to stitch it up. One of a kind.

I had given him some old files of my dads and he totally surprised me with this.

I found that I had to sharpen past the initial edge to stop it from chipping. This also improved the edge geometry because I thinned it out. IT will still chip or ding when I accidentally hit rock or concrete (while digging or taking out saplings). I've found that many production knives need to lose their factory edge to really see the expected performance you want. No big deal for me though. I use all my knives. They will all dull and will all eventually need a good sharpening.

Thanks craytab. Yeah I've also learned that too! I always put my own edge on the factory production knives, especially if the edge is just a starter edge such as what Down Under Knives sends on all of their knives. Their knives are never sharp...just the start of an edge.

The only production knives I've never had to even touch the edge on them are my Cold Steel Knives. Same with my TOPS Knives and my Aitor knives.

I love the Aitor knives and the Muela knives. They really have some strong blades on them. But being they are made in Spain, I can surely see why. One of my User knives is my Aitor Jungle King 1. That knife might just have the 8" long blade but it is seriously strong and holds an awesome edge. That one is my everyday utility knives...one of them. Another one is my Aitor NATO Bowie. It's a small 7.5" blade knife but it is awesome. I also have the Aitor NATO Bowie Magnum which is not even made anymore. I use it sometimes too but use the smaller one more.

I just feel very blessed as an adult...Because I now own knives that, growing up poor, I wanted but could only dream of.

Yes, I am very proud of my continuing knife collection!! I am especially proud and grateful to of had some of my own designed Big Ass Knives made.

Here is one of the early Anacondas before they went into full production. The tops guys had this one at a knife show in either vegas or pasadena, can't remember now and I had a mike hankins folder that they liked. We made the trade, lol.
