Big ass knives...bowie, survival, combat, bushcraft...just big ass knives!

Man that Is an Awesome Looking Randall now!! Truly a Big Ass Awesome Knife! I do eventually want a Randall...And I love the Model 14 and Model 18. But I would just really like to have one with a bit bigger blade.

One of my most Cherished knives has a resemblance of the Randall Model #14 and the Lile First Blood/ Sly II style knife. It was actually Designed and made by Andrew Clifford in Loving Memory of my baby brother named Justin.

Justin's life was sadly and untimely cut short in 2012 by an accidental overdose via allergic reaction of mixing medications and not knowing the possible outcome! He was just 36 years old and had served his country Proudly.

Anyway, just as Andy did for me and for my Dad's Loving Memory back in 2010 when my Dad passed away, again Andy answered the call and agreed to Design and make yet another hardcore knife honoring my brother's untimely death.

I will post pics of it later but I tell you this...It is an awesome quality knife and is a knife that was Designed and made with a lot of heart and compassion and kindness!!

Here we go, again! Why you continue to follow my name, speak your negativity AFTER apologizing the first time (which I still have the apology email, by the way) is beyond me. My nephews did work for me prior to my wife's cancer diagnoses & treatment. Each have moved on to their own ventures. We did have a raffle, and will be having another for the American Cancer Society charity event this upcoming spring. Again, if you have a problem with me you have my contact info. Running to every possible thread on Blade Forums to continue your bashing is ridiculous. WHY BF continues to deal with you is beyond me. Why apologize then go right back to bashing me? I am more than certain, by now, people know how you are. This will be the 5th time I have been summoned to BF to your negative comments (as other makers have been that have had to deal with your bashing) I am busy playing catchup as work was limited while making sure my wife was taken care of and I don't have time to address this any further, nor do I want to ruin a good thread by arguing with you. My wife is cancer free after a full year of treatment, life is just now getting back to normal for us and we don't need this kind negativity! You paid another maker to re-grind the knife you bought from me BEFORE even asking for a refund, against his advise. If you do not like my work you may want to stop helping me get business by mentioning my name, because regardless of what you say I still have a long list of people WAITING to buy. I am not taking orders and do not expect to for the next year or more. You call yourself Marty Gaston yet your email, contact info is a completely different name, so I am not sure who I am really speaking to, but take care!

Great thread, thedemonbeast 👍👍

Heyyyy,

Thanks Rez!! You know me...I love my Big Ass Knives!! Hahahaha! Have a great one Rez!

Thanks, thedemonbeast. I appreciate your business and I enjoyed helping you with both design requests. I apologize I wasn't able to help you with several of the others, I'm glad you found a great maker to bring them to life. When I get caught up I hope to have things back to normal, again. Maybe I will even have more time to frequent Blade Forums 👍 more often. I dislike having to come here to rehash an old incident. I would rather come back to read about all the great knives instead.

What you, or I, or the demonbeast thinks about Gaston and his usual comments is moot! :D It's all about what the mods think!

In the spirit of the thread here are a couple of my large knives. I do not consider them "big ass."

Those are some fine looking knives marcinek! Very original looking! I love Originality!! I also love it when someone's Original knife idea is Improved on...Such as in if you see a knife design that you like.. But it isn't made with quality steel that can actually be used...

There's nothing wrong with taking that original knife design and making it or having someone else make it, with the high quality steel and materials, and/or making it bigger or even smaller to your liking, and creating that knife design into one that can actually really be Used!

To me there is absolutely Nothing wrong with doing that...AS LONG AS YOU DON'T TAKE IT AND TRY TO CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN ORIGINAL DESIGN!

If a person does that then that makes him nothing more than a worthless Design Thief!! Sooo...Go ahead and get that awesome cheap quality knife that you really like, made with better and more usable high end materials...It's fine...Just be sure and give full credit to the person or persons who originally Designed it. Just make sure everyone knows he/ they originally designed and created the knife. OK?

What are you talking about? Where did the ALL CAPS and drama come from?

Do you have an issue with my knives or what I said about them? (which was nothing...)

or issues about some makers knives and their claims?

What happened to this all of a sudden?

I wanted this thread to be about Big Ass Knives or any other knife that one is proud of. I didn't want it to have drama, bullying, or bashing of anyone in here.

I just wanted it to be fun thread. I've been told the same thing I just replied to Gaston by several non-mods who weren't happy with my posts in a certain thread. And I was told the same thing by a mod as well.

So I learned my lesson and I left that thread and started my own here. But all of that is old news anyway. But my stand is this...If drama or bashing other people, esp when they aren't around here to defend themselves, starts occurring here, I will not take part in it.

I'm just going to continue posting my pics and comments regarding Big Ass Knives...LOL...And I am just going to Ignore the rest. I'm keeping it real...I don't know about anyone else! LOL

I'm confused.

Enjoy...I'm out.

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by that.
It appears as though the stand he is occupying is rather grand, but I may be wrong.

I am not suffering from confusion in the slightest bit. I was just happily reminded that the Randall #18 is just a marvelous thing of beauty and style. Stunning in my book. This blade would be a must for any serious collector.

Brace yourself for elevated prices though.

Marcinek,

Cool looking knives! How do they perform?

Thanks....the clip point is a custom by Justin Gingrich (Ranger Knives, GTI)...it's a "safe queen" but a beautifully balanced hollow ground fighter...I'm sure it perform devastatingly well in the hands of an expert. Scary.

The other is an early knife ("Cody Zombie Killer") by a maker/friend Chris Cody. (C3 Knives, last I heard). "Scandivex" chopper, but still very capable of fine work near the handle. Excellent "camp knife". Wish I had more "camp" chances to use it!

Classic style design work. I like those 👍 I haven't gotten the chance to make some large full tangs, but I hope to in the near future. I need a good long chopper for my own uses. When I get a chance I'll post pics of my ownBIG ASS KNIVES!

Great looking knives, everyone.

Here is a few of my big guys, ones that I really dig, I know the Carothers isn't the biggest but its earned its place in my kit. And dang that MOFO rocks.

LOL Noooo Marcinek...That wasn't aimed at you. It was just an independent statement...that's all. I was just making an independent point. It was nothing to do with you or your knives! Terribly sorry if it was misplaced and it confused people. Hell, after I read it, I was confused and like WITH? myself...And at my own post! Lol

The caps were a mistake as I'm typing on my smartphone and hit it by mistake. I was in a hurry and just did not take time to change it.

I'm so sorry for the confusion and misunderstanding on my part. But ya see, I was in deep thought about something and just blurts typed it out! My apologies to all!! LOL!

Kinda have to laugh at it now though...I mean now that ya know it was my misplaced thought, LOL!

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by that.
It appears as though the stand he is occupying is rather grand, but I may be wrong.

My stand is this...someone in here was making negative statements about a knifemaker that I've befriended and bought many knives from and even worked with him on my own very first design. Therefore I was just stating that, whether it be friend or even if it wasn't, that let's just change that subject and get back to discussing and posting pics of Big Ass Knives.

And that I was just going to Ignore any putting down or any bashing of anyone or their knives!! That's all that I was saying.

Hey demonbeast. These are some really cool designs you have!

I have a BK9 which is obviously really good at batoning, and so so when it comes to chopping. I own't bore everyone here with a pic of it and interfere with the visual theme you've going in this thread.

I was just curious as to what you use these very large knives for? Maybe you could convince me that I should have one......or more than one?!

Heyyyy,

Well first off...a BK9 is nothing to sneeze at. And you should post pic of it here. If you are proud of a knife and you like it, feel free to post here.

Now to answer your question, there is a lot I could say to try and sell the Big Ass Knives idea to you. In fact I just wrote an extremely long post here, originally, about it.

But after I wrote it all out I realized that I was just repeating myself over and over, just in a different way, LOL! So let me just say this:

Big Ass Knives are what works for me. I am a bigger man and I like and need to hold and use a knife with some heftiness to it! But ultimately, you have to stick with what best works for you...What is comfortable for You.

Big knives aren't for Everyone just as smaller knives aren't for Everyone. Knife choices are personal. I choose to use big knives simply because I love using them. They get every job done that I use them for and need them to do.

And that is really all that I can tell you at this point. But I would encourage you ...Why not buy one, just to see how much you will use it...Just to see if it fits your perspective! It sure couldn't hurt anything could it? But if you do though, just please make sure you buy one for actual Use.

Try to match it with what you would normally do.out in the woods. Don't buy one just so you can post pics of it here and say "I got me a Big Ass Knife Too!" LOL! But buy one for true reality use!!
