Big ass knives...bowie, survival, combat, bushcraft...just big ass knives!

I dont think I have ever seen a cooler Randall than that

Same!
I waited way back when it was 36 Months, and got a 14-7.
I never knew they made a blade like that! Sasquatch!
Maybe my new must have...💸

Here is my CMFTW knife called the "BoozeFighter" made by talented knife Craftsman Matt, of CMFTW Knives!
Re: the name, it's a fighting style knife with a bottle opener!
It's made of CPM S90V.
He also made the leather sheath, with stingray hide on the front.
All hand made.
He grinds them, & I found out later the sheath is sewn by hand & felt quite bad knowing he lost a
lot of blood making it.
Matt is a great guy, and really puts his soul into his work.
I'm proud to show it and would like to thank Matt again!!

This is a pretty interesting knife buddy. And nice story behind it! I tell you, I sure know about blood loss caused by knives, LOL!!

But this is what I love...Great pics of Big knives and/or other knives that folks own and are proud of, and the stories behind them which they carry! Man, I LOVE those knife stories! Thanks man!

Big Ass Knives are what works for me. I am a bigger man and I like and need to hold and use a knife with some heftiness to it! But ultimately, you have to stick with what best works for you...What is comfortable for You.

Big knives aren't for Everyone just as smaller knives aren't for Everyone. Knife choices are personal. I choose to use big knives simply because I love using them. They get every job done that I use them for and need them to do.

And that is really all that I can tell you at this point. But I would encourage you ...Why not buy one, just to see how much you will use it...Just to see if it fits your perspective! It sure couldn't hurt anything could it? But if you do though, just please make sure you buy one for actual Use.

Try to match it with what you would normally do.out in the woods. Don't buy one just so you can post pics of it here and say "I got me a Big Ass Knife Too!" LOL! But buy one for true reality use!!

Makes sense. Don't you get annoyed when someone tries to tell you that your knife sucks and theirs is better??!!
The good thing about knives is that there's one for just about everyone out there!

Now for the million dollar question - if you could only choose one, which would it be???

I think if I Had to grab the best and go, it would either be the Amazon Cobra Bowie that I designed which the pic of it is on the very first page of this thread...

Or I would want my SXB Skullcrusher Extreme knife by TOPS Knives. I know that any and all of my hollow handle knives can handle any and every job thrown at it without worry and without fail. But the SXB is just soo many diff k Ives in One!

Sooo...yeah....Either one of those knives would definitely work for me. At least until I get the type of knife that is being made for me right now!! When I get it and load it's handle with a mini survival pack, I will make sure and grab That knife above all else!! And I cannot wait until it's finished either!!

If I was going to grab just one it would be my FBMLE in my Lost Mountain Iron Works sheath.

The great thing about big knives is that when you throw them even if they don't stick, they can do lots of damage.

This one did stick however

LOL... Blood loss! More like blood impregnated sheath construction. The thread started cutting into my fingers when pulling each stitch tight. It happens on almost all my larger leather sheath projects.

You sure are right there! LOL Remember the scene in Crocogator...errr...Crocodile Dundee 2 when Ole Crocodile Dundee, in a brave gallant Hollywood's Tyler cheesy rescue attempt of his NY Philly woman, he threw his big Bowie Knife at the bad guy and it hit him in the back of the head, render I ng him unconscious? Ha ha!

That whole scene was cheesy with a poor concept, and very poorly orchestrated. However, the throwing of the knife part was a true concept.

So yep, you are so right Cobalt! Big Ass Knives could do some nonstick serious damage if thrown and even if it didn't stick!!

I'll play :)

OK....Giving this thread a second read after stepping away for a while....

There's nothing wrong with taking that original knife design and making it or having someone else make it, with the high quality steel and materials, and/or making it bigger or even smaller to your liking, and creating that knife design into one that can actually really be Used!

To me there is absolutely Nothing wrong with doing that...AS LONG AS YOU DON'T TAKE IT AND TRY TO CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN ORIGINAL DESIGN!

If a person does that then that makes him nothing more than a worthless Design Thief!! Sooo...Go ahead and get that awesome cheap quality knife that you really like, made with better and more usable high end materials...It's fine...Just be sure and give full credit to the person or persons who originally Designed it. Just make sure everyone knows he/ they originally designed and created the knife. OK?

That is a fine point, but how does it fit with these design claims and/or names?

Here is another BIG ASS KNIFE! This is my pride and joy!! It's my handmade First Blood movie knife made by that awesome knifemaker, Ray Matton.
(Jimmy Lile)

The blade is stamped with my Design Logo, "MY KNIFE" And also "D2" to indicate type of steel
(alton Holder)

Here is another handmade knife that I designed and was.recently made. I named this one the BLACK MAMBA!
(Scott McGhee/Wilson Combat)

Here is another of my Big Ass Knives. It's a handmade 10" D2 Steel hollow handle knife that resembles the Model 18 by Randall Made Knives. I love Randall knives esp the looks of the Model 18.

Here is the Very First Handmade Sly II Hollow handle survival knife made by Andrew Clifford of Andrew Clifford Knives also ACK Knives! Since this knife, Andy has made quite a few of these...both Numbered And Un-Numbered!!

It's not an exact copy of the Jimmy Lile Original Sly II, mainly because Andy stated that he is not a fan of the Split serrations concept. He believes that the solid serrations are much better and keeps the knife stronger as opposed to the Split ones!!

I understand you passion about not claiming knives to be original designs, but then many of the knives you own and designed borrowed liberally from other makers' work.

How do you fit those two together?

I certainly wish I had more opportunity to use my large knives myself....but I'm a city boy.

That said, what do you use your knives for? All the knives you have pictured show no signs of use (I assume they are "baby" pictures :D), there are no "action" shots of the knives in use, and several (like that Pit Viper) would be illegal to carry in many, many states.

So, how do you use your designs?
