someone on amazon claims zt made a switch to s35vn. Website still says elmax. Not sure though. Might have to email or call zt for an official response.

My thoughts exactly. Most people will prefer a cf scale over g10. Trade it either straight up or with a little cash heading your way and you could get your scale and membership paid for.
And like everyone else said, get a custom one made in 'custom services offered'.
I know RGT has some scales for the 0562 on sale at his site right now (he's a forum member also) for less then your $50.

Update: I bought a second 0562cf from Amazon because I wanted to see what CPM20CV was all about after hearing it was a slight upgrade from CTS204P. (Good enough excuse to buy another knife) It came today and I have already submitted my return.
As soon as I got it out of the bubble wrap and in my hand something just felt off. It feels lighter and not in a good way. The carbon fiber is much grippier but everything else is negative. The flipping action is fast but doesn't feel smooth at all, almost a bit gritty. When it does lock it feels very hollow compared to the solid and reassuring "thud' of the 204.
Upon further inspection things only got worse. The fit and finish is pretty rough on this one. There are several sharp edges including the flipper tab and lockbar. Speaking of the lockbar it is pretty flimsy compared to my old one. For some this could be a positive as it is much easier to disengage the lock but I prefer the stiffer lock bar.
The biggest offender by far is the pocket clip. I'm almost positive this thing is plastic. It feels ridiculously cheap and has barely any tension where the old one is solid and almost too stiff.
Either this is a very high quality fake or ZTs quality control is slipping. Once my return is completed I think I'm going to try and get one in S35vn to see if I either got a lemon, a fake or if ZT is just slipping.

How do the standoffs look? On the knockoff ZT 562 from another thread they were the biggest give away.

Honestly, they look about the same to me. Pictures don't really do a good job of conveying the way this knife FEELS. If I had never handled the old one I probably wouldn't have thought anything of it. However, comparing and handling the two side by side the difference is plain as day.
Unfortunately, I think it is real. I honestly can't even call it defective (aside from the pocket clip.) It flips ok, came hair popping sharp and there is zero blade play. I've just been spoiled by a superior sample.

Not that I would buy it if cheaper, but $50 is a LOT of money in this case. I mean, I would not be interested if ZT produced a downgraded 0562 with g10 scale, steel lock side, and 8cr13mov blade for $50.

Here is a photo from a thread over the summer about a fake ZT 562. See how the fake standoffs are two different sizes. Yours do not look like that, which is good.
Your knives both seem to have properly finished pivot screws, and the diagonal machine marks where the lockbar cutout is under the Clip.

Maybe ZT switched the pocket clip material? The new 0920 is using a "bent titanium" clip. Titanium would feel lighter than steel.

I'm going to post pics of a 100% genuine big fat phoney! This is what the brand new 0562 clones are looking like! I most certainly do not support the Chinese knockoff market in fact it really makes me incredibly pissed off!! I've been burned twice now one ZT 0566 and a Spyderco Tenacious Sprint Run! Then why you ask do I have a 0562 clone?! Well if you would all just simmer down I'll explain myself, JEEEEEEZZZ! ( SMH, some people )

I've only been collecting a little over a year now. Most of my collection is Kershaw second being CRKT then a few Sogs a couple Bokers. But it all started with an old Leatherman I found in a auction house overflow/ unclaimed items shop. Now lately its been Spydercos and my cherished and mod'd ZT0566 along with my Mod'd Manix2 (sorry backstory).
Awhile back I purchased on eBay the SR Tenacious blue. It arrived looked great a bit different than my WalMart Tenacious but the blue's a Sprint so I never thought anything of it. FAST forward a few months and I'm in a bidding war for the 0566 and in the end it's finally mine! I'm so excited I immediately order blue ano ti screws, pivot, offsets the whole 9 right? Well up to this point I've never heard of clones and fakes their existing never crossed my mind. So in all my excitement I come across a seller saying straight forward they were selling made in China likenesses of the ZT0562. At the time I thought cool for 30 bucks I can get a cheap Chinese sense of what the real 0562 would feel like and if I like it I'll save for that next.
My hardware came the day before the 0566 arrived so the next day all excited I sat down to give the 0566 the blues....NOT A SINGLE &;@%#*^} SCREW, OFFSET, NOTHING FIT!!!!! so I contacted the seller of the screws and asked if might of sent the wrong set and he informed me I probably bought a clone! Now at this point the 0562 clone I DID order has still not arrived. Like I said I DO NOT SUPPORT CLONES IN ANYWAY!
At this time my intentional clone purchase was for personal research I didn't realize the Chinese were using names and logos and just straight making copies. So short story long! After I worked out a refund for the fake 0566 that was sold to me as the real thing the 0562 clone shows up at my door and not just the one I ordered but 2?! So that's why I have these to take pictures of to post for you all here:
