TAD has S30V ones on their site as well as DLC coated .
I had the oppurtunity to check one of these out and they are the coolest !
 
The bitteroot is a great little knife, I got mine last week and they are super sharp and for $45 they are a very good deal (especially for s30v).

How thick is the stock, and is it V ground or chisel ground?
This just might be THE neck knife I've been searching for. A big thumbs up on your choice of sheath maker.:cool:

Hi Paul. They are double flat ground and stock is .125 thick. (1/8")

Eric is da man for the sheaths! :)
 
I would like to order 2-3 of these, and was wondering how much the coated versions are? also, TAD is sold out, so I'm wondering where to place an order and what the wait time will be? Thanks!

Bob, just got back from "vacation"

The Talonite blades are all ground and ready for final finishing and logo etching. Delay on the sheaths due to the supplier of sheath material losing my order. :mad: I may have to make up a few sheaths to get them going.

Rob: Sorry to hear about the sheaths. Hope getting it straightened out doesn't cause you too much hassle.

I've already got my sheath situation covered. I ordered a belt sheath for my Bitteroot from On/Scene shortly after I put in the pre-order. :) Eric says the belt sheath will also work as a necker, so I'll just keep the keychain version around as an emergency backup.

I have worn my Bitteroot as a neck knife everyday since Blade this year. It is a handy and nicely made little knife. Rob you did good on these.

Where'd you get that CF pattern sheath?
I thought that's what mine would come with:confused:
 
Have to admit, I was of the same mind about the sheath.

What I received on both my Bitteroots was a pretty rudimentary, WAY oversized sheath. Kind of defeats the purpose of such a small knife by coupling it with such an (unnecessarily so, IMO) overly large sheath. One of them also had a thumbprint melted into it.

Debating on whether to send it to Survival Sheath and see what Robert can make up.

Great knives (like all my Simonich's BTW), however!
 
It's been a couple of weeks since the last update, so I have to ask again... :)

Any idea when the Talonite Bitteroots might be ready?
