Blade Brothers Discovery 9pm

Say what you want about goofy, but the term "crazy like a fox" comes to mind when I see what other folks have been able to do with these "reality" shows.

Ha. The Todd Begg website servers aren't responding right now. Guess they're getting some exposure.

Snody is not a gangster wannabe. I will check the show out after it hits Amazon. I imagine though that like alot of reality T.V. it will be alot of setup stuff.

So your saying he is in fact a gangster? Disappointing the show is all tacticool.

Triple monster claw blade....actuator.....multi color scheme? Is this about knives lol

I guess it's a good thing that making high end collector knives can now join the ranks next to custom motorcycles, duck calls, and pimped automobiles.

While its kind of shameful "reality" programming, hopefully it won't make knife collectors/enthusiasts look like goofballs. Perhaps it could help the industry...but unfortunately it looks like a showcase for scary knives that bear no resemblance to society-friendly tools.

If its on tv/cable/dish/dtv, and its "real tv", it will be a drama queen piece of crap. ESPECIALLY if its on Discovery or History channel. booo.

They look more like fantasy knives to me, like LOTR type knives. And his brothers, who admit not knowing jack about knives, will take over the Bodega production. That is when I stopped watching.

This show should have been so much better. I do like his knives. It needs less American Chopper influence.

Watching now, and it pretty much seems like any other Discovery show (except that is involves knives). I will likely watch it regularly unless it gets too crazy.

Things I disliked:
too dramatic/fake (as expected)
too much focus on fantasy/custom knives
cheesy stabbing/slicing to show off fantasy knives

Things I liked:
showed a few different techniques used
showed the shop pretty well
the horny little ankle-biter :D

The show was pretty much how I expected, don't know if I'll keep watching.
Also, if anyone saw the second episode, what was the neck knife Mark was wearing? looked like some sort of folder in a kydex sheath(maybe a bodega?).

I watched both episodes--never again

I think Discovery would have been much better served by spending a month with Busse.

Then moving onto Custom makers like Bill Siegle,Scott Gossman,Matt Lamey,Horton, etc

They could show a knife being made from start to finish each episode and then tested by the new owner.

Cutting a pig with a $12 Grand Cleaver???

I have had Siegles that could do that better---for $300

Begg's show I think will appeal to people that like knives but really do not know much about them..

They are going after the "It looks Cool so it much be good" factor.

No offense intended towards Mr.Begg--but the show is not IMHO going to please many knowledgeable knive lovers.

This show should have been so much better. I do like his knives. It needs less American Chopper influence.

I watched and agree with the Chopper influence. John is like Paul Sr. Todd is like Paul Jr. Mark is like Mikey. Also, too much fantasy knife making and not enough custom knife making for my liking.

Oh come on people! This is the first show about "knife making" and your bashing it? I hope future shows will show more of the entire process.

Damn, I missed it. Bummer. Wonder what attention the show will bring. Rise of the tacticool knife brigade
