Blade forum user names.

Got it back in highschool many moons ago during the infamous football "HELL WEEK", had it ever since.

It seems suitably low rent...more truthfully, my favorite character in Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Hi all. My user name is my first name and last initial, which, after reading the responses here, seems rather banal and unimaginitive.
This may be my favorite thread ever!

Hi,

Just going through and reading the new post on this thread.
Wow,I did not think there would be such a big reply.
Now that I think about it there must be hundreds of BF users out there.
I hope we hear from the rest of them on how they picked there user name for BF.
It makes for some great reading.

Thanks for the great replys :)

Nothing wrong with using your own name.I use diff names on diff boards
I chose mine because of the validity of the statement knowledge is power.

Howdy There....!
Got my nickname back about thirty years ago from a big friend. Use to have very short hair cut and this large friend of mine walked behind me one day and grabbed my head with one of his big hands and said I felt like an "old Possum", and it stuck...!

Later "Possum"

I have another passion--ROWING! I have been competing for over ten years. We use the term 'bladework' regularly in the sport, so I used that as my eBay name....

....Then, I joined Blade Forums and added yet ANOTHER past reference: I had a personal best and a National Record in 1987 in motorcycle drag racing at 7:47" seconds in the 1/4 mile. It was a great career that I loved, and did well at. :D

So I combined it all together like a stew! Glad yew asked!

Coop (Coop747 is also another handle and my email!)

Well, takes a bit of background...

I used to play net games on Heat.net as 'Shadow_Wolf'. I was a lurker... I sat in the shadows in in cubbyholes and shot you with whatever I needed to kill you with. Be it a basic blaster or nuking you. The 'wolf' comes from waiting till you were almost dead or teaming up with others and them herding you into me.

I also played Quake(1 and 2) online as 'Phoenix'. I was a bounty hunter with a slighty non-standard version. I hex-edited my version of the ini file, and used a lightsaber as my base weapon, a RPG gun as my 2nd, plasma rifle as my 3rd, and a nuke as my final(of 9 choices). Even if you managed to kill my 900K health and 1K armor, you didn't get my weapons as your game would only read the basic ones. I popped back in with the fully loaded character and killed you. I would die 50+ times in a day from pissing ppl of and nuking thier @sses.

I chose 'VampyreWolf' as a branch. I killed almost any I attacked in my games, occasionally having them join my team after a good number of kills to my character. Again, the wolf came from picking off the weak or joining other groups and having them herded to me(think bison hunts)... been using this name for about 5 yrs now.

I got mine from a book I read about the irish mob in hells kitchen one of the guys name was Mickey Featherstone.
He was a craaaaaaaaaaazy s.o.b

My first name initial and my last name, was my logon name at the company I worked at. Picked up the nick name "any man" because of it, so now it's my nickname too.

Al Nyman

When I was still on shift work, the guys started calling me 'CODE 3', because some of them claimed I could be at the scene of the incident BEFORE the dispatcher finished sending us out!

I even have a T shirt that says "CODE 3....when you absolutely positively have to be there NOW!"

A nickname is born.

:D

Well since there are thousands of us on Bladeforums I think we still have a few left to post.
:)

Jay, because it is my first name. Harley because I have been riding motorcycles for 35 years. Wow. That sounds like I am getting old!!!!! Now I am depressed!!

Interesting, guys, and being new hereI feel I know some of you now. Like GronK, I picked up my name in Nam well over thirty years ago. I was a young buck sargeant with the tie died t-shirt and beads and peace sign dangling from my neck. One of the members of my squad gave me the handle. I've used it often since then, whenever I needed an alias.

I use a computer at work and have so many passwords to remember, I try to stick with my dogs' names (I don't seem to forget them). There's been a Bonnie, Clyde, Angus, Max, Heather. For now the name I'm using is Clyde with the 2 last letters of my last name. Oh yeah!
I still have to write the user names and passwords on a post-it and stick it right on my computer. Take care.
