Blade forums Buck Knife announed! Almost...

OK, I finally came off of TDC.

The 500. Like the man said (whoever he was... and maybe even me earlier), the 500 isn't that big. But, it is bigger, so there is more of it to see.

AND, there is more of it to hold on to when you're cutting. So, whether it is a looker or a user, it is better.

500... definitely my final answer. Don't need a 501, that's the reason I don't already have one. Not enough knife.

Was that "heads" means it will be a 501 and "tails" a 500 or the other way around?

I like the 500 (and I already have 2 501MS), but I agree with Windancer that they'd wet their pants if I brought in a 500 (in fact they almost do that already with my 501).

So the 501 is the one I'd more likely buy ... a great knife with a lotta edge for its size (yeah, I know I said that before).

I love em both, but exactly how much is this going to cost?

The 501 is my choice.

To prevent the necessity of continued recounting, I am posting the results as of this time.
My count does not include those who seem to be totally undecided. It does include those who are leaning toward one model or the other.

And the winner is...
The 501 Squire with polished buffalo horn inlays and BG-42 steel blades. We will probably laser the logo onto the bolster, not the blade. Soft leather pocket pouch possibly.
I am trying to work out the internal details now.
Thanks for the help folks!

Is it too late to be on the list for a 501?
Been out of this loop for a while, how does the ordering process work for these? I'm not a huge Buck fan, but a 501 would look good with my 532!

Joe!

I am very pleased with the final decision. Will be a perfect gent size knife.

Will watch for more info on how to get in on the ordering of one.

Thanks.

Larry

Any chance of getting that blade flat ground? The leather pocket pouch would be great! BTW thanks Joe!

Thanks Joe! The 501 was not my first choice, but it will be a great looking knife. The 501
is not as small as I thought. I saw one the other day at the local sporting goods store.
Will the handles be attached with rivets? Let us know all the particulars as they become availiable. Thanks again, Joe.
