Same here. I've taken it out a few times and admired it, but then right back in the tube.
I'm waiting to see if any of my forum friends weren't able to get one, and deserve one.
Typical Porch generosity!! Nice going, John!!Same here. I've taken it out a few times and admired it, but then right back in the tube.

What a guy!!Oh, I forgot to say that when I pass it on it will be at no cost as I do with all the knives I give away.
No not sweaty for sure, especially that its been pretty mild weather wise.I think it looks terrific, too, and my opinion is yes that sheetrock is definitely abrading enough to see that effect. Are you usually a sweaty boy, and have you checked to see if any of the dye has bled into your pocket fabric?
Mine arrived last Friday and after the transit time in the mail from GEC to Barry to me and a week in it's tube sitting on my desk, with the exception of taking a few pictures, it looks like this. The tube wear is killing me !!!!

I was going to carry it when I went to the Wagon Wheel Cafe this past Wednesday but decided against it. Haven't decided if I'll pass it on to someone yet and don't want to mess it up with a patina or scratches from handling until I decide.
Stuff like this is why 99% of my internet time is spent here on the porch. You guys are jam up!Same here. I've taken it out a few times and admired it, but then right back in the tube.

Paid membership was never one of the requirements.I'm really hoping I can find one. 86 being my absolute favorite pattern. I've tried for 2 years to buy a membership but without a PayPal it seemed impossible, finally had a friend gift me one last night. I'll be here for the next for sure.
You did it! Nice work assembling the whole lineup.View attachment 1660803

Using some cheap calipers, the Barlow are all about 11mm thick, while the 86 rope knife is about 14mm.

@Patrick Robbins was just expressing his opinion. This year’s Blade Forums Knife is made better than some customs I have owned. Not all, but definitely better than a few, and that includes knives made by some well known makers.
Pretty neat seeing one with mileage.View attachment 1660776
Well one week with pocket change, another knife, driver bits and sometimes screws and such. The mark side especially has lightened up quite a bit, the pile side has but not as drastically. Anyone else notice the darkest part of the dye wearing off as such? Personally I think it looks far better
Edit: I been sanding allot of sheetrock this week and that crap permeates EVERYTHING, wonder if its acting like rubbing compound in my pocket![]()
They look well together, grand contrastHeres my forum knives, quite the unlikely pair. Its nice not to have such a similar knife for every year.

YesDo you mean ‘knife content’ or ‘knife content’?![]()
That's some nice Tina
That looks amazing. That's a perfect knife handle in my opinion.

do you carry sand paper in your pockets?!
edit: saw the sheet rock thing
I love it in this state, but it makes me wonder if it's just going to be all red before long!
Thanks guys, the more I think about it the more I'm sure it's a combination of the stuff I cram in my pocket and the sheetrock dust. I've always been a "drop it in" and go guy, and throughout my workday all kinds of stuff goes in there lol. Screwdriver bits, screws, cabinet hardware, plumbing fittings all find their way in and out of my pockets. Combine that with the fact bone is a natural material thusly can vary quite a bit, perhaps this particular slab didn't take the dye as strongly. The pile side isn't as drastically different from new in fact.Pretty neat seeing one with mileage.
