You said in your post it made you want to throw up. You should've known at that point that people were going to give you crap about it.

Yeah.. they aint giving me crap, they are just being azzholes. Its going to happen, and when shyt happens to them,
there will be some other azzhole to talk shyt to them.. It cool.

People listen,

The point of me buying the cheap azz piece of shyt DPx was because of the total of everything, Cool box, Cool Logo, All black and stuff. Just looks cool. It was the total of everything that had value to me.

I am buying something BRAND NEW...Shouldn't it arrive looking BRAND NEW???? Am I that wrong?

I can't say whether you're wrong... but I wish I could afford to think a $500 dollar knife is cheap ass... just enjoy the cool all black cool looking knife dude.

And I can't speak for everyone but I;m not attempting to be an a=hole of any sort... it's just that when a dealer "fails" at something, I assume a big issue, especially with a rather expensive knife... I just don't expect the fail to be with the box, so your post was pretty surprising. I assume the knife itself (the product you are going to be using) is pristine, otherwise you'd have mentioned that.

I think perhaps the boxes for the DPX Hest 2.0 Triple Black are... bigger on the inside!! (Props if anyone gets the reference.)

Seriously though, you can send me that knife wrapped in a garbage bag-a USED garbage bag-- and I'll be happy.

Who?...wow two pages and I'm the first??? Either no fans or over their heads with a whoosh

Well long story short my father died, I got all excited to get home and open my package. best i felt in a long time then. I just got let down. And YES I really did think I was going to throw up.

Thank you guys for the Razzing and stuff. To be honest I feel a little better venting... carry on

What the hell are you gonna do with the box anyway? Oh no, it had sticker residue so my other garbage is going to stick to it when I throw it out!

I am not that big on the packaging knives come in personally but I understand the OP's reasoning. Someone who sells as many knives as Blade hq should know there are collectors who want pristine examples of everything that ships with the knife as well as the knife itself. I wouldn't personally call it a fail, more of an oversight but that is just my opinion.

Years back I ordered a couple limited edition Benchmades from a local shooting store. When I went to pick them up the sales guys asked me if I would allow them to take a look at the knives I bought after I had paid. I asked why and they said Benchmade gives them specific instructions not to open or touch limited editions and not to bend the tabs on the boxes that hold them shut. How true it is I don't know but that's what they told me. Some companies are certainly aware of the collectibility of cutlery and packaging. On the other hand a different local and very well known store had one of my special order knives on display with a price sticker on it when I went to pick it up.

There was suppose to be a ? after Fail, but it didnt get put down, So it my fault haters wanna hate.... HA H AHAHAHAHA

Sorry to hear about your father passing, OP. My condolences. In light of that, I suppose little things like this, might indeed set me off in such a way. I haven't been in exactly this position, but similar ones many times, with other loved ones, and it is surprising what little things can set off our already low emotional state. All the best and I hope the knife itself is good.

You get it. It wasnt for anything but getting put away and when stuffs perfect its worth more.. WATCH PAWN STARS PEOPLE!! HA HA HA

I've thrown away all my boxes but all my knives are $50 or less. That box is pretty cool though, that I would keep, and that I would be disappointed in.

Hey, the Pawn Stars guys are rich and famous enough that they can have their pick of who they want on that show and what stuff they really want to sell, these days. ;) Seriously, people line up outside the door now.

Me and him were never really close, We would talk and get together and stuff, But when they go there is all the I SHOULD OF BEEN A BETTER SON THOUGHTS, Well I have just been low and it was the excitement of the knife coming and everything. Who knows maybe tomorrow it wont be a big deal. But right now its what im putting energy into.. LAME as it is

No Idea what the knife is like I put it right back in the shipping box and walked away. Im just one of those people who works hard to have lil, and when i spend my lil i expect
alot. Is that so wrong?

And b4 the haters come out of the wood work.. Look what the package looks like online it looks cool as shyyyt, then tell me how let down you would be when you get some sticky messed up box

General knife discussion is for discussing knives
GBU is for discussing transactions and dealers
Gadgets & Gear can be for discussing Boxes.

My condolences for your loss, that truly sucks.

So you buy an awesome knife....and are having an emotional breakdown over cardboard.

You should be slicing and dicing cardboard

Sorry to hear about your Dad but if a sticker on a picture that it belongs on a Brodozer is the worst thing that has happened to you I'd chalk it up to a good day
