DAMN!!! that fit is flawless!!!

DAMN!!! that fit is flawless!!!

You're right Lon.
IMO, Don's fit/finish is consistently as close to perfection as one will fine in custom knives today.
I expect his building of auto-folders with amazingly precise components and firing performance over the years has helped him with the "fit" of his knives in general.

WOW!!! The selection just keeps gettin BETTER! Too many to comment on them all, but a couple that stand out to me:

That DHIII monster folder is just AWESOME!

GREAT lookin line-up Adam.

I agree with STeven about your bowie Brion. My favorite of yours to date.

Hope to get the pleasure of seeing them in person!

Peter

Seems like this is the place to be! Lots of talent running around this thread. Don, those are fantastic!

Just finished this one up.
It's another integral. I'm sure this pattern has another name, but I don't know it, so I call it "Orc- Nouveau".
The blade is 10-3/4" x 2-1/8"
OAL 16-1/4"
Handle is ancient Walrus.
The carved fluting on the handle is an idea I got from Jim Rodebaugh.

Thanks for looking.

You're bringing some outstanding work to the show. I'd would love to be there to appreciate them first hand.

I especially like the way that you brought the bars into the point of this one. That's not easily done and you did it very well. Good job!

Wow!!! Amazing work guys and gals. Really down that I won't have a table this year.

This thread is surely rockin' now! In spite of the economy and all the rest of life's hassles and obstacles it appears to me that this year's BLADE Show will be the biggest and best yet. Custom knifemakers are clearly steppin' up and there will be more exhibitors than ever and also more areas of special focus within the knife world. Good weather would almost be too much to ask for but I'm hoping like everyone else.

Here's another outstanding J.R. Cook knife for BLADE Show this year. It's his Saline River Fighter dressed up with mortised and pinned elephant ivory handle and some gorgeous damascus that evokes the meandering river for which it is named. Blade is 5 1/4 in and guard is stainless.

The Saline River (there's more than one but as regards this one, think Arkansas) is rich with history and blessed with beauty. Yes, it is briny and has been a location for salt works over the years. Here's a very interesting overview with pictures and many related links. http://www.encyclopediaofarkansas.net/encyclopedia/entry-detail.aspx?entryID=2649

Karl wow. Killer damascus and I like that your getting into dressing the knife up a bit. I think thats my favorite steel of yours so far.
