BLADE SHOW ’2015' ~ Show Us What You Got!

Wow, so much eye candy in one thread, my favorite type! :D

Karl, that is just too cool, I've always loved your brut de forge style knives, especially with the tsukamaki, and now ya even went a step further with your beautiful san mai! I said it on FB and I'll say it again regarding that twist damascus blade, it really does look like the blade has been jeweled! I wish you still made youtube vids so we could all see the chatoyance on that beauty! :)

Beautiful bowies Bill!

Ed, that flipper is insane! Is the left scale made from a SS over mosaic laminate as well? Such a cool effect... And your bowie with the wild damascus and carved handle was beautifull executed...

And I cand wait ta see what you do with that sticker, Lin!

Man I wish I could say something about everything I've seen, as it's all been great! But I'll just continue ta sit back and enjoy ;)

Please keep them commin like Kevin said, this is as close as myself and many others will get.

Wow....what a year to miss Blade.

Extraordinary blades Gentlemen......Karl, I really do need a Wrapped Laminated Brute de Forge to go with the first one I got from you.....would make a marvelous set.

How 'bout something a little different?
Not sure if I've seen one of these anywhere with a Carbon/Stainless San Mai welded blade with the forged in full-fledged Brute de Forge guard?
(I will say that the term Brute de Forge has certainly achieved a rather relaxed definition these days with - it seems - everybody calling their knives BDF if they have a little forge scale on it, which is more like they just didn't finish grinding, rather than any type of forging function. Oh, well.)
Anyway, this was inspired by an enthusiast of mine asking me if I had every done one.
I hadn't - until now.
After cleaning up and etching the blade, I mortised down the handle on each side to smooth up the handle wrap transition from handle to ricasso. (The first picture shows this.)
1095/420SS San Mai Brute de Forge with Ray skin and silk cord wrap.
I had my camera out and took a couple impromptu photos.
The wrap job will get an epoxy treatment tomorrow.

Killer piece Karl

Some beautiful things being posted this year. Gonna be a good show.
Here is a Cowboy Bowie with tight twist, Ironwood and stainless take-down fittings:

Followed by what I'll call a Tuxedo Bowie with a San Mai blade, hot-blued guard and rope filed spacer with a stabilized Koa handle and take-down construction with an Ivory finial cover:

Steve, that stag laminate is sweet.

Karl, the ironwood bowie is definitely my kind of knife but I find myself really drawn to that little tuxedo bowie.

WOW is right, there's been a bunch of show stopping beauties being posted. I can hardly wait until the show so I can get a closer look at all these . I'm glad Steves right next to me, maybe I'll get a chance to finger that stag fighter before it leaves the room. Mr. Hall looks like he's got most catagories covered and will be a one stop table for anyone looking for a hunter to a chef's knife.Very nice.
Karl I agree with Roger and MW, both knives have a great look but the tuxedo looks like its dressed for the prom and it won't last long.

Less then 2 weeks now, really looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Bill

Top one is a Chiron with Damascus and Mammoth. Bottom one Is a BingaLor dressed in Zirc / Koa with CPM154.

I'm only doing folders this year. I have 3-4 more in various stages to complete. Its getting to be crunch time ladies and gentlemen.:D

I was considering going to Blade, but now that it's right around the corner it's no longer an option:( Time goes by way too fast!

But hey, at least I can enjoy these pretty pictures:D

Wow what a poor display of craftmenship.... don't quit your day job guys....

:) Hah.... Yeah right! What an amazing bunch of knives, every damn one of them. Absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to be able to create something like that! Awesome work guys, they really all look damn good. Wish I could get out to Blade show. Maybe the next one.

I'll have this one along with a few others. 6" blade, stabilized spalted maple and wrought iron. David Seward is doing a sheath.

Tad
