Blade Show '06

I don't think it's going to happen Dan. Don't hold a pass for me, let it go to someone who can definitely use it. Thank you very much for getting one though. :)

By the way guys several hotels are sold out. If you are going you should book soon.

I got a suite at Residence Inn about 2 blocks away for $75 a few of us stayed there last year and its a great place.

ok, RR. will miss seeing you this year.

Still waiting on addresses from a few of the others...shoot me an Email.

Hi Dan,

I've got my passes covered. The guy I was looking for a pass for got a table!
How lucky is that!?

The floor plan (whick is now up) show you are in the ABS testers area. Are you going for your JS?
Any pics of what you might be bringing?
See ya at the show!

How about a link to the site for us newbs.

Thanks RR. You are welcome to stay with me for that weekend.

the link in my sig takes you to the show as well (and shows my table number).

I was headed toward getting my JS...but after I injured my hand, things have slowed down (stopped) so I'm not sure if I'll finish in time. There's always next year and either way the show will be great.

shappa - glad you'll be there  I'll put those 2 passes up for grabs.

gravertom - decided yet?

Hey guys, I think I might actually make it again this year! You will get to put up with my loud, obnoxious, boisterous self again. (OK, maybe not an accurate description, but I'll at least try to raise a few cheers). :-)

David

Dan, I sent you an email. Thanks so much for getting those.

I'm all booked and set to go. Getting in early on friday and leaving late on sunday. I got a room at the Sheraton, which I believe is pretty close by.

I don't think I'm renting a car this year. Hopefully we'll have enough vehicles to get everyone to dinner, wherever we end up going. Remember the car I had last year had a flat tire by the time we got to the restaurant?

Roadrunner, we're going to miss you. Hopefully you'll surprise us all and show up anyway.

Spectre, we're going to miss you too. If you want me to keep an eye out for anything, just let me know.

Munk, hire the damned sitter....

Bamboo,
The Sheraton is a real nice hotel and it is close by. The shuttle gets you where you need to go...to/from the show, restraunts.

I'll need a ride too, but I'm sure we'll work it out.
And I call "Shotgun"! LOL

David, Glad to see you'll be able to make it!!

Dan,

I'll take you up on that and thank you. I think we are coming back from vacation that day, so I can probably get over there saturday evening or Sunday. It would be good to see you guys again!

Yeah, I inspire paranoia wherever I go. Still, it is neat to be surrounded by the excessively armed.

LOL.... I'll be following Leroy Remer around...He's not getting a table but watch out for his briefcase ;)

My brother lives in Marietta so it's a short run to the show.
It should be fun.. My wallet is in grave danger  :D

Ok, here's where we stand:

VIP passes are here:

Here's what I've got:

Bamboo - 1 (In The Mail)
Azis - 2 (In The Mail)
aproy1101 - 1 (In The Mail)
Lion's Roar - 1 (In The Mail)

Looks like there are still a couple leftover...anybody else need one?

All booked flight room and car.

we should do a car count and see how we are for everyone having a ride for the dinner or whatever else comes up.

I'll be there in my wife's Honda Accord. Is Bill Marsh going I wonders?

IIRC, Bill isn't too crazy about "new knives"...except khukuris. :D

I'll have a car...large SUV. Can seat 8....uncomfortably...but not worse than a taxi. :p

Having never been to blade show, or any knife show for that matter, what other types of things will be sold there? Flashlights? Camping gear? Etc.

Surefire has always had a booth there the years that I went. There may be a few booths that have related gear like martial arts equipment, exotic leather items, gadgets and other cool goodies, but most of it is just knives. The hall the show is held in is the size of two high school gymnasiums, and it's always packed full. You'll need two days to stop at every booth, but I recommend that you attend at least a few of the seminars and demontrations. Last year at the cutting demonstration, they allowed audience members to cut some of the leftover targets with the various swords that were used in the demonstration. That was FUN. The cutting competition was also well worth seeing.
