Blade Show Scores

In addition to what Blues Blues said, also use the CPK encyclopedia to learn about different models.

Recent sales will help you figure out what is actually currently available. And reading. A lot of reading.

Thanks guys! We had a lot of fun. Ben is as amazing as ever, now National and World Champ. Sue Ann and I had strong showings. Came home with 2nd and 3rd medals. James Clifton's wife Michael came home with the Women's Championship. This was by far the best woman's race we have ever held.

dialton dialton - A better idea than trying to have forum members guess what will make you want to buy a CPK would be to spend a little time in the subforum. There's some entertaining Utube stuff from Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist showing him cutting improbable things with various knives - bolts, nails, chain, etc. There's a video of him shooting one of his knives. There's lots of testament to the quality of the knives and the makers. There's a quibble or two, too, if you care to search for them, but from what I've seen CPK addresses it openly and seems to stand behind their product should a valid concern arise. Consider the rough-use guarantee offered on some models. Lots more info here about the various products CPK has offered: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/cpk-encyclopedia.1685908/

I stumbled onto the CPK knives and this subforum, they looked good, I evaluated the items mentioned above, and decided I wanted one. Not quite so simple, then I had to figure out how to acquire one. I think I got my first CPK off the website you referred to (yes, they do sell various knives off the website from time to time, but there's no official release days or any official announcements that I'm aware of, they just show up, then they disappear!), maybe my first several, until I sort of figured out how the Friday sale thing works. From there I've been sufficiently impressed that I've bought a few more (but ymmv- I'm easily impressed by many things).

And, welcome to a journey which, once begun, never seems to end:).

ETA:
Well, Blues Blues and cap'n Smudge (don't know how to tag him, sorry) said it faster and better than I did. No wonder I don't score many knives on Friday sales! 🤷‍♂️

Congratulations Jo! Second and third places are still pretty darn fine! Mike

Very well done Jo (and Sue Ann). Jo, no matter the placement, you are the subform's forever champ and no matter the color of the medal, you are in possession of the real trophy. I won't post his photo just in case someone steals him. Both you and the rest of us need the EG just to keep his head down and churn out those exquisite CPKs 😁

Jo the Machinist Jo the Machinist first of all congrats! Reflecting on the competition, I'm curious where you feel it is won and lost? Do you think it is practice and then execution on the day, or do you expect to make any tweaks to your equipment?

CPK crew: I'll drink to your continued success ! (Coffee for now :) )

There is no friggin way that Ben has no Scottish blood in him and in fact if we had to close our eyes and kidnap a big, bad and burley random Scott from the Scottish Highlands, chances are that it'd be Bennie's twin! That said, Ben needs to don a dressy and colorful kilt at his next championship outings. Kilt 'n Crock et al, LOLz...

Anything but a banana hammock will probably be an upgrade.

🤣
