- A better idea than trying to have forum members guess what will make you want to buy a CPK would be to spend a little time in the subforum. There's some entertaining Utube stuff from
Nathan the Machinist
showing him cutting improbable things with various knives - bolts, nails, chain, etc. There's a video of him shooting one of his knives. There's lots of testament to the quality of the knives and the makers. There's a quibble or two, too, if you care to search for them, but from what I've seen CPK addresses it openly and seems to stand behind their product should a valid concern arise. Consider the rough-use guarantee offered on some models. Lots more info here about the various products CPK has offered:

I stumbled onto the CPK knives and this subforum, they looked good, I evaluated the items mentioned above, and decided I wanted one. Not quite so simple, then I had to figure out how to acquire one. I think I got my first CPK off the website you referred to (yes, they do sell various knives off the website from time to time, but there's no official release days or any official announcements that I'm aware of, they just show up, then they disappear!), maybe my first several, until I sort of figured out how the Friday sale thing works. From there I've been sufficiently impressed that I've bought a few more (but ymmv- I'm easily impressed by many things).
And, welcome to a journey which, once begun, never seems to end

Well,
Blues
and cap'n Smudge (don't know how to tag him, sorry) said it faster and better than I did. No wonder I don't score many knives on Friday sales!
