Blade Steel Give-Away Contest

I just have to wait til the weather breaks the last storm 2 days ago left 18 inches of snow and were in another tonight so it will be a week before i go anywhere.

The reason I don't live way up north. Beautiful place to visit, but...

If you forge, you might try looking into your local bearing supplier or CAT dealer. Get scrap larger bearings that don't have "cone" shaped rollers. Email me the part numbers and manufacturer and I'll let you know if they are blade steel or guard steel. You'd be surprised how well a box of donuts every Monday morning will work with those two groups of people. Maybe make a knife or two as giveaways as well.
 
I wanna make knives, if I qualify. I have already made 3, so it wouldn't be my first.

and I have most of the tools ( and even some old files) but I sure would like a good piece of real knife steel to start on. This is really great of you folks to offer this.

I do not know how to thank the kind members of this forum enough without sounding like a broken record :D. Thank you! It is awesome that people are willing to help the newbs around here! As soon as the steel comes in ill start working on it and taking lots of pics for you guys if interested. Today i shall make some more paint stirring stick knifes!
