BladeChick777 Bad Trade!

I agree that this thread should have ended long ago. However, the cost of the knife is irrelevent. If a knife is described as NIB, then it should be that. If it's NIB but has scratches, those should be described. Otherwise, what's to keep a person from doing it on a more expensive knife? Now, Bladechick did a follow-up and went about things politely and cooperatively, so I thank you, Bladechick. I just have issue with the fact that people continue to site the price of the knife as a reason to not complain.

Well, might as well chime in again. Here is an analogy.....You just finish up grocery shopping and walk up to your car. Your antenna has been bent. It will cost you $35 to fix it. Now technically, you could call the police to file an accident report, file a claim with your insurance company (although your deductible is higher than that), wait around for 2 hours for police to come, when the policy finally arive they get furious because you called them about a broken antenna, etc. No. You are going to suck it up and go buy a new antenna. Now on the other hand, if you walk out of the grocery and see that your $20,000 car has been absolutely totaled...well of course you are going to call the cops, call your insurance company, etc., etc. etc. Why? Because it's $20,000....

So why wouldn't you go through all that trouble with the $35 antenna? Because it's not worth it! Spending your time waiting on the cops, calling your insurance company, getting yelled at by the cops, etc. Just go buy another antenna and be done with it (e.g., just use your $35 knife).

You've been platinum for too long; I don't think RUs can use IMG codes.

Yes, they can.

Surely no one could possibly be a platinum member too long. That would be like too much bacon ... too many knives ... too many women on Bladeforums ... the very concept is nonsensical.

Ah. Well, that's good to know.

Agreed about the platinum membership, too. I could never live without all the free champagne. And those dancing girls . . . woo-hoo!

I dunno, I'm getting kinda tired of the shrimp after all these years. Maybe I'll have to talk to Spark and see if we can switch to prime rib next year.

Wow,

I just wasted a bit of time reading this thread. uggggh, I could have cleaned the toilet bowl, it would have been funner.

I've gotten Kershaws brand new, out of the box and there are rub marks and scuffs where they insert the dessicant pack under the clip. Spydercos with scratched belt clips right out of the box, Ka-Bars with some tiny dings on the spine of the blade, etc. and these are knives that are packed and shipped in a box. Doesn't bother me though, because I use every knife I get. For a $35 knife in clamshell packaging, don't be surprised to find scratches, scuffs, and maybe rubbing on the edges. You'd certainly be hard-pressed to find a pristine Meyerco Q-Maxx with no scratches, scuffs, or evidence of wear straight out of the clamshell, or any similarly packed overseas-made knife for that matter.

I was in New England in June, as some of you know. In a five-day period, I ate four lobsters, two baked stuffed shrimp dinners, and two orders of the crab cakes at Legal Seafoods - which were actually the best thing I had. It was almost worth the cost of the plane ticket.

I believe it
