You could have prevented this whole thing by accurately describing the knife to begin with. Ok so you weren't clear on this but now you know. You did right thing not denying it and owning right up to the problem.

I am sure you will get your knife soon. I don't think he would delay shipping just to be spiteful.

It was a misunderstanding that's all. I hope you both stay as active members and put this in the past.
 
IMO it def looks like a carried, perhaps used knife. If it was described as NIB, dont think so! My question, if this Bladechick has a bad rep why are you dealing with
her in the first place!? Since the knife in question is from Bladechick, then Bladechick just ship it back and pay for any shipping costs involved! Then the Brain send hers back. Done.
 
I do not want Bladechick777 to leave here, I only wanted my knife back and for her to pay more attention to her descriptions and maybe add pics.
I understand that people think I was crazy to start this thread over a cheap knife but you have to read the thread to understand it. I asked her to send my knife back and to pay my shipping ($3.50) and she said "no" so I said forget about paying shipping but you need to ship mine back first ( so I would know that it really had been sent),she said "no" I wrote back please send my knife back or I will post in GB&U and she said "go ahead I will do the same" and here we are. She saw that taking advice from a "friend" about the situation was not wise and looked back and did what she could to fix her wrong , and she has fixed things with me. I have my knife and I have sent her knife back to her(she will get it friday) it was sent 43 hours after I got mine back.
Why threats(glockman99) and personal attacks (about her typing style really?) .I have had people post here and send me PMs and emails saying they support me and I thank them .I will say this once more ,I just wanted to warn people about a person who WAS being unreasonable ;that person in no longer being unreasonable she has said she was sorry and will do better in the future (good for her).

I don`t really care if some of the people that have posted here have me on their "no deal" list I do not think I would like to deal with them if this is how they act.

Again thank you to everyone who has posted here no matter what you said I have no anger and feel like this has helped me to better understand this forums and some of the people here and I think Bladechick777 probably feels the same.
 
Striderco, that part of the thread was put to rest a long time ago. Since it seems people are on the right track, why don't we just let this thread cool down now. When Bladechick gets the knife back, she can let everyone know, the thread can be closed, and both of you can move on to bigger and better things.

Here are my final thoughts on this thread....a retrospective if you will....and I'm getting in bed so my mind isn't working quite right. So let's call this a retrospective ramble...

Once or Twice a month we see threads like this, and they are very entertaining. They become threads of this magnitude for 4 reasons.

1) the person starting the thread is brand new, has a temper, and tries to screw a BF member who has been here a while. The person who starts the post usually gets burned bad and we don't see him/her back in GBU

2) In this case, even if theBrain was wronged, the knife was such an insignificant knife that a thread should not have been started. You surely weren't planning on getting it as an investment....it's a cheap POS. so that means you were going to use it....so who cares if it has scratches because you're going to scratch it even more. You started a thread about a subject that shouldn't be discussed, and it blew up in the brain's face, and to a lesser extent, BladeChick's face. But BC learned from her mistake and I guaranty you that it will not happen in anymore of her trades. Bottom line....this thread should not have begun on GBU. It's the lesser of 2 evils....1) Make a stink about getting a cheap knife you were going to use anyway and ruining your rep on BF v. 2) realizing it's not worth it, suck up your pride and use the damn cheapass knife and scratch it even more. The latter my friend, is the lesser of the 2 evils.

3) You have a legitimate thread that contains a true wrong. One or both parties don't take ownership of the wrong. That my friends, is when the crowd comes into play. They both act like fools, get caught in lies, try to hurt the other's reputation, call them names, tell them "I'm in the Right" and "You're in the Wrong". These people are just asking to be beat down by everyone who watches this forum. And that's why threads don't get closed. You have to keep the gates of the arena open so the gladiators can keep fighting and the crowd can keep cheering them on.

4) You have the elder BF member who wants to teach someone a lesson. The person is new and trying t learn how things work on here. You go after them, even after they are trying to fix things. Like a panther in a corner, you pounce. You get a couple posts in where you say some good thinks and make some good points. SO WHAT SHOULD YOU DO???? STOP WHILE YOU ARE AHEAD. But you don't do that....YOU KEEP GOING AND GOING AND GOING.....your ego and pride has now taken hold, giving way to reason and reality. You have the newbie in your sights and you jump on him/her relentlessly. After that, everyone thinks your an ass and doesn't want anything to do with you.

Glad to hear you're staying. I was just going to let you know the only way we'd let you go is if you took Brainiac with you.

Oh, and the lesbian butch thing doesn't bother me. I'm actually a lesbian in a man's body and I was once engaged to a bi who ran off with another woman.
 
Just for the record, I just now saw this thread. So, it obviously had nothing to do with me noticing that the Police was not NIB as it was described to me. I feel that the last portion of your post was directed towards me as if I shouldn't have noticed the scratches on the blade, the rub marks on the G10 from the pocket clip being repositioned and the lint inside the handle of the "NIB" knife. I also don't like basically being cussed for "the tiniest things you didn't notice". When something is described as NIB, these things aren't tiny....they are obvious signs that the knife is USED. My intention for this post isn't to get anything else started, I just felt that I had to do it since I was indirectly brought up in the post at 7:06 yesterday.

If you got a Police form BladeChick that was supposed to be NIB and it wasn't, then by all means don't beat around the bush. Come right out with it and settle the matter. I know I don't want to trade with someone with a history of not accurately describing their end of the deal. In other words you aren't doing anyone a favor, including yourself with this less than up front post.

Yes it was supposed to be NIB and clearly wasn't. She has in fact been very cooperative and we have resolved the issue.

I agree that this thread should have ended long ago. However, the cost of the knife is irrelevent. If a knife is described as NIB, then it should be that. If it's NIB but has scratches, those should be described. Otherwise, what's to keep a person from doing it on a more expensive knife? Now, Bladechick did a follow-up and went about things politely and cooperatively, so I thank you, Bladechick. I just have issue with the fact that people continue to site the price of the knife as a reason to not complain.
