This one might have the best designed blade I've ever seen. It's certainly in the top 5.

Lorien, you beat me to the punch in posting Magnus' Entity. I think you and I are his biggest fans in the universe :D I had the honor of taking delivery at Blade this year and it was great having time to talk design and walk the show with Magnus.

Here is a wonderful tapered frame handle sub hilt from Don Hanson. Premium old bark elephant ivory, 10 3/4 inch double edge blade and 15 4/4 inches overall. Sheath by the great Paul Long :thumbup:

1) Don Hanson

I'm quite sure that there is more than just us two who make up Magnus' fanbase!

I would like to nominate this gorgous laminated bowie from Claudio Sobral, 10 inch blade carved handle. Soon to be mine, I am so excited. Could someone please enlarge my photos for me?

Here's a beautiful Loveless "Dixon Fighter" with maroon micarta and typical red liners.
Not sure if we've ever had A Loveless entry. This piece made it's debut in 2010 as part of a three knife set.
Most Dixon's have around 6" blades so I assume it OK to enter it.

I think it's pushin it, but it's always nice to see such a nice knife. Personally, I don't think I've ever seen a Loveless bowie.

Bowies, fighters, camp knives - all are welcome - as is that Loveless.

This is the last knife I made before going off to basic training. A heavy duty blade about 8 inches in length 12 1/2 inches overall. The handle is recycled hickory. It was designed as a down and dirty, no frills fighter. I call it "Black Steel"

#1

Guys - please:

1) Don't vote until submisions are closed;

2) Don't reproduce photos of knives already submitted as it is going to make the voting MUCH more difficult when it starts.

WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED AND VOTING BEGINS.

The enthusiasm is appreciated and the eagerness understandable. :)

Gary, if you would delete that post and hold fire until the voting starts I would be most grateful.

Roger

1, Ron Newton. This knife was first seen in 2009 however that was in it's unfinished state. I am posting it now because it was finished this year and it is fabulous.

And let me add, if I may, that when you cast your vote, just reference the post number and the knife number, (if applicable).

Like this;

1. Post #37, Knife #4, John Doe
2. Post # 4, Knife #1, John Deere

ETC...

Bolding it is fine, regular size is fine, but please no duplicate pictures, if it confuses the voters it also confuses the judges!

The Black Mesa Bowie was inspired by a well-known geographic feature near Mike Williams' home in Broken Bow, OK. The style and execution is classic Mike Williams throughout with a new feature this year - a fenestrated butt-cap featuring, in this case, material of the same stag antler from which the handle piece was taken. Mike always uses primo stag. Damascus fittings feature a unique pattern in perfect harmony with the blade. Note how the forged blade's double clip and classic lines contribute to the knife's unmistakable big dog look. Added to my collection this year, and as real as it gets...

Some really terrific submissions - including a few that I had not seen before - like that spectacular Newton.

Coop - thanks for coming through for our man Gill.

Peter - great knives. As you know, that slick Dave Lisch piece had me placing an order even without the benefit of Coop's terific camera work.

Buddy - I remember that Mike Williams bowie well - most impressive and a big dog indeed.

Roger

PS - One bit of housekeeping - it has been brought to my attention that the Fuegen bowie in Post #13, Knife #1 was in fact a finalist in last year's Best Bowie competition. As such, it is excluded from entry this year, terrific as it is.
