BladeForums BEST BOWIE - 2011 Edition - Voting CLOSED, Finalists Selected

It's just somebody's idea of a sick joke making us pick just 7 of these. I'm going to have to stick to clean and efficient this year. And I'm leaving off the 7th because that's for every other one that is as amazing as the rest. Thanks for all the great knives!

Post 2 # 5 Steve Culver Searles

Post 45 #3 Lin Rhea Damascus and Stag

Post 73 #4 Erickson/Warenski San Fran Bowie

Post 113 #5 R. Appleby

This is a VERY difficult year to make choices.

Post 2, Knife 1 - Don Hanson III
Post 2, Knife 2 - Jason Knight
Post 2, Knife 4 - Wheeler/Paranee
Post 3, Knife 2 - Rhea/Lurkin
Post 4, Knife 1 - Russ Andrews
Post 7, Knife 2 - Tom Ferry
Post 111, Knife 8 - Jerry Fisk

I can make a compelling case for any of these knives.

Don Hanson III, Ladder Pattern Damascus Bowie, Best of Don's 2011s and we need a DH3 in the final. I waited to be sure that it was his top vote getter.
Founder's Bowie by Jason Knight is a pure unadulterated classic, executed to perfection. The image only tells half the story. In your hand, it is superb.
Wheeler/Paranee "Fighter", A tad small, but resistance is futile. Flawless Wheeler Overdose.
Rhea/Lurkin Bowie, just blows me away with every sexy curve. The stars were completely aligned when this beauty came together.
Russ Andrew's Sub-hilt Bowie, IMHO, it is simply THE best knife that Russ has ever built, and that is saying a lot!
Tom Ferry's Widowmaker Bowie, I have an couple of issues with the flow and Jon's miniature image, BUT This is an absolutely KICK @SS Tour de Force!
Jerry Fisk's Bowie, The old master, at the top of his game, demands my vote.

My list is final. Good luck to everyone!

Thanks to Roger & Lorien!

Well, here I go
1. Post 2-1 Hanson ladder pattern
2. Post 2-5 Culver Searles
3. Post 3-3 Newton spearpoint
4. Post 33-1 Weiland fighter
5. Post 62-6 Desrosiers integral

7. Post 73-3 THE Moran ST 24.
It was incredibly difficult to narrow this field down to 20, much less 7. The only way that I was able to do it was to pick knives that had really made my neck snap and eyeballs click when I first saw them here on Blade Forums. Even then, there were many in that category that got left out like the Rhea-Lurquin knife, the Joe Paranee projects, Kyles, MS set and about anything that John White did this year. I think that guys like John, Jason, Nick and Bruce Bump may have suffered from overexposure/dilution because they did so MANY nice pieces in the last year. LOL The one piece that was going to make it onto my short list no matter what was the Newton spearpoint because that was probably the best WIP thread of the year and I just freaked when I saw the buttcap treatment.
