How will anyone choose a winner from among this group

You folks build just beautiful knives!

You folks build just beautiful knives!

You can say that again! This will be a tough competition.

Thank you everyone for participating. I am sure we are missing some beauties from this year, so please don't be shy.

Lets add to the mix:

1) Adam DesRosiers

This picture was posted above. Would you mind removing it in order to prevent confusion when the voting begins?

And thank you for posting. Those are some beautiful knives.

Lin "magic" Rhea the same .. like you want .

Please get any last minute submissions in. I will open this up to voting tomorrow.

I can't wait to see how it turns out this year.

#1 One of mine with my hand bashed, random Damascus. 1084 and 15n20. Stainless "bolster" and pins, mammoth bark, mortise tang construction.

#2 And one that was posted here today, by Petr Melicharek, that I think really deserves to be on the list.

This was harder for me than the Bowie thread. Ugh.

Post 3 # 2 Darcy Ellis Holy wow I love everything about this knife.

Post 5 #1 collab Not because I was involved, but because of the energy behind this one. Most effortless collaboration ever, with a good friend.

Post 16 #1 Morrison The lines and tones on this are superb. Can we FINALLY take a step away from cold, emotionless stainless guards? This is a good argument, I'd say.

Post 20 #1 Aldrich I'd love to have this on my belt in the woods.

Post 27 #1 Wulf Same for this one. Just a great carry blade, with the right touch of unique design elements to draw you into cherishing it.

Post 41 #1 Doyle Once again, all the right design elements. Too many entries, though, you dumbass - you'll end up beating yourself!!! Your own fault for making too many awesome knives, I guess. 😝

We are now closed to additional entries - let the selection of finalists begin!

Now we must narrow it down to five finalists. The procedure will be the same as previous best Bowie threads.

1) Each member may submit up to 7 suggested finalists. You don't have to submit as many as 7, but don't submit any more than 7. Please take your time to carefully review all the knives.

2) Please include the post number where your selected knife can be found, and the number of the knife within that post if more than one knife is presented therein - this will help clear up any uncertainty in the case where there are multiple knives by a given maker among the initial entries. For example - a say post number 30 has 4 knives. You want the third. Put "Post 30, #3". AND DON'T FORGET TO INCLUDE THE NAME OF THE MAKER!

3) Your order or selection doesn't matter - one vote per knife up to seven, each vote counts.

4) Please feel free to include a few words about what appeals to you about any given selection. THIS is what makes the selection process most interesting.

5) When all votes are in, we add up the numbers (each time a knife is put forward by someone as a finalist, that effectively counts as one vote for that knife) and the top 5 will be voted on by poll in a new thread.

Post 6, knife 6. Karl Andersen. What's not to love about san-mai like that!?

Post 9, knife 2. Cody Hofsommer. I am a sucker for feather damascus, and this knife is no different. It goes really well with the choice of handle wood.

Post 32, knife 1. Jordan Lamothe. The shape of the blade and handle look perfect to me. That, along with all of the handle embellishments makes this a winner to me.

Post 32, knife 3. Haley DesRosiers. I really like the curves on this knife. It looks like it would melt into your hand. The Damascus pattern is great, and leads into the integral bolster which always looks fantastic to me.

Post 37, knife 1. Fisk. The pattern of the steel is mesmerizing. Not a single detail was overlooked on this knife. World class as always.

Post 39, knife 1. Ben Seward. The handle details are amazing with this knife, and from a functional standpoint I would bet that this knife will not slip around in your hand.

Post 41, knife 1. John Doyle. In my eyes, this is John's signature knife. I would love to own this one.
