Went to a party last night and brought a decent bottle of Tequila that I didn't try yet...
Mi Familia Reposato Christalino (NOM1459)... Great stuff... Curios detail - they did the Stopper as a small flask with some tequila in it,
neat detail to remember when your guests finish the bottler before you try it
Host's Tequila was Adictivo Anejo (NOM 1477), probably made in the same factory because it had the same type of stopper and very close to the Mi Familia profile.
Something new I learned about Tequila, maybe beneficial for someone: Every Tequila bottle has NOM Number.
It indicates the factory the particular tequila is made. If you like one brand, you can look it up in the store.
Usually the first two digits of the 4 digits NOM number, will tell you that those two tequilas are coming
from the same factory and have similar profile, you might like... It gives you chance to find/guess the juice you prefer, without actually purchasing a bottle...

Great lineups on this page Gents ! Knob Creek is such a great Bourbon, absolutely love the fact that they returned the 9 years Old Statement and also released such great Proof variety !
Actually I found out that I ran out of my favorite Knob Creek - Single Barrel Select, it's 120 proof, little bit too strong for me, but you can always pour it over ice or add water,
I just love it's absolutely classic, recognizable Kentucky taste of corn and oak and so on, I'm not very good in describing things, but I know exactly what I like, and KC is just one of those I can always
put side by side with much more expensive stuff and still like it better.
Chronovore , Sir, I'm sort of new to the Tequila thing for myself and I'm just starting to explore it. Great stuff, I'd say, learned lots of things about the NOM numbers, very interesting to me is to dig about the factories,
process of making it, why this one is better than other, Mezcal is another one of those, also very interesting to me because of the way Mexico regulates it, it's very close to the Gov standards in US for Bourbon and Rye...
We got together with my Bourbon Buddies last Friday, we hit another good lineup, tried few new Bourbons and continue with some more on Sat night with friend of mine who brought two Chattanooga bottles that
apparently are only sold in Tennessee..
So here we go, Friday night:

It doesn't seems something special but... *The Buffalo Trace is Single Barrel, TW selection. I got shocked - this was almost identical to Blanton's !!!
*The Wolcott is bottled for the brand by Barton 1792 ( which I love) and this particular bottle is almost identical to their Full Proof, that won the World Whiskey few years back,
according to the guy that publishes the Whiskey Bible.
*Drifters Glen, I find absolutely delicious Bourbon that will not break the bank and worth trying.
The *10yo RVW is of course good, we finished the last remining of the bottle, but the most enjoyable bottle from all of those was again the *Sagamore 8yo Rye...
It is one of the bottles I will always buy if its available... It is expensive by my books, given I go trough a lot of bottles per month, but a bottle of favorite juice lasts long with me,
when I don't pull it out when have guests, ha ha ha...Judging by the pictures I post, it may look like we got hammered every night,
reality is - we just like to try stuff and don't really drink some enormous amounts...
But wait, there is more !
I just poured a little Scotch on Sat night, hoping for a restful evening...

... when friend of mine stopped by, bringing two bottles from Chattanooga Whiskey:

The BIB some Special Experimental Blend, and IMO the Star of the Night ---> The Founders 11th Anniversary Blend.

The Founder's bottle is Solera processed, basicaly Infinity juice, compared to the Hillrock's $100+ stuff but it costs around $50... I actually like it better.
They only sell it in their store, its available all the time, but not sold outside Tennessee I would gladly pay to anyone who can buy it from their
store and I can lay my hands on couple of those bottles... It's unbelievable pour, rich, thick flavorful, true Bourbon taste, I don't care about the fact that it's made in Tennessee.
We had great time and almost finished this one...
So all I can say is - I apologize for the long post, but I went trough so many good pours, that I had to share with you Gents, I hope ya'llhad a great, restful weekend !
And last but absolutely not least, I just don't want to sound political: Salute to our Veterans !
The so much unappreciated true members of our society, forgotten and left behind by you know who... Much respect, thank you for your service,
we owe you everything good that still left in this Great Country !
Cheers !![]()

I could be triggered by seeing Irish Whiskey here... I'm highly impressionable and need an occasional reminder that some of it is pretty good.If anyone would be triggered by an Irish Whiskey in this thread, let me know now!
Simmilar situation wit us, but we don't have much relatives around, naturally, and some how intentionallyTo have fun with good friends and enjoy all those fine spirits is a blessing. I mostly get up to that kind of fun in the summer when I see more of the adult members of my family.
I never look at any drink as "cheap", I like to try new things... I did try some Irish stuff and I like it, but left this area for future explorationOtherwise, it's a glass alone here and there, or with just a friend or neighbor; usually one spirit at a time.
I've been doing more Irish Whiskey lately. Otherwise, scotch and rye rotate with bourbon. I feel like I've got too many open bottles now and I don't do enough drinking.
I think this would be the correct way but it's ho hard to find the thread especially if nobody posted lately...Personally, though, I tend to use Knives and Drinks for Irish, rye, tequila, and non-alcoholic refreshments.
mrknife the 7yo HH is probably my favorite !
Sorry for the back to back posts; but here's how I do it. Start by coming to General Knife, thenit's ho hard to find the thread especially if nobody posted lately...
I highly value the honestyI don't think I can take your recommendations any longer, my friend.
I can forgive your love of Knob Creek (I do enjoy the single barrel, and the 12 yr is pretty good); but the statement I quoted shows a serious difference in our tastes.
