7 mile hike this afternoon... been a bit since I've had the opportunity to hike this far. Weather was good, mid 60s for temps, cloudy to start then becoming sunny at the end. Bit windy, but being in the trees kept it from being troublesome. This is about as good as fall colors get here (northeast Nebraska).

After the hike was done, I made a fire in one of the shelters in this state park. These shelters (there are two in the park) were built by the CCC during the Great Depression.

Not my best fire lay, but I built it dense to make the most of the one bundle of firewood I had to work with. It was still burning after 1.5 hours and I ended up putting it out to go see my mom.

How are you liking the new MSI? Do you own or have you used one of the aluminum ones to compare to? I like them but haven't been able to talk myself into one yet though. I have a few aluminums ones and they seem to be well built nice handling knives. I kinda like the heavier versions of knives that I've handled that offer both aluminum and titanium versions.

I really like this knife - first MSI, so I can't do a comparison for you, as I went a little crazy on the Stitch, where I now own 4 (2 auto and 2 ram-lok) and one of which is a newer full ti version, which is heavier, and of the lot, I like it the most. I'm sure some other folks on here could give you much better details/comparisons on the MSI, and I may try an aluminum in the future, as I really do like this style of knife.
