Photos Blades on Hikes

Where in Maine? As a kid we used to go to Wayne, Maine for summer vacation. No stop lights, the Post Office was also the Barber Shop and Ice Cream store, one gas station, and the General Store had a sign that said "If we Don't have It, You Do Not Need It". John
We're in one of the more populated cities, just south of Portland - once you go north of Agusta, it seems most of the towns are as you experienced - I've only been here a few years, so still loads to explore.

Warm and wet, nearly 2x warmer today than yesterday - 51°F:

what happened to pups thigh? looks like shaved spot. normal vet work or something happen to the poor fella? he's okay right?
He developed a "hot spot" about 6 weeks ago, wouldn't leave it alone, chewed all the hair and skin off, and a week in a cone (we do the inflated doughnut) and he was okay - just have to let his hair grow back in, and change color to match when the sun comes back.. in May 2026, lol.

Ya know?? I tried to get the wife to chase pine cones but she only smashes acorns. 🤔😂😂
And you are welcome!! 🤝👍😂
John 😁
LOL!!

Zeek loves chasing acorns, even more than pine cones, just a low yield year - they were every where last year - they work so much better as a chase, and I make him find the one with my sent on it - he'll crunch them and drop, never eats them.

Another chilly one today, 31°F with overnight rain, everything was icy or frozen, but we did manage to see the sun:
