7 down, 2 to go in the Expanse series. It's been a fun ride, that's for sure!

Nice stag HHB, Mike! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I admire your dedication to that series you've been posting here. Have you occasionally been reading other things, or are you committed to "All Expanse, All the Time" until you finish the series?
(I remember that a few summers ago, I set the goal of reading all of Asimov's Foundation novels and Robot novels. I'm very glad I did it, but I had to occasionally read something from another author/genre to keep from "zoning out" on the Asimov.)

Thanks GT. I love losing myself in a series until it’s finished, so for the moment all Expanse all the time :) I’m also listening to the Orphan X series on Audible. Just can’t have enough series going.

Next up I’ll finally be tackling the Wheel of Time, then it’ll be a re-read of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. I plan my reading a little like you plan your carries. ;)

That it is! :)
Wonder how well one could circumnavigated the world today with just a humble little Rambler. 🤔
(by jet of course)
Think you'll find the book will be worth the search.

Thanks for the informative reply, Mike.:cool::)
I think having a plan increases efficiency! 🤓
Your remark reminds me of one of my favorite palindromes: A man, a plan, a canal - Panama!

I used to read a lot but haven't picked up a book in a long time. My phone and the TV have occupied most of my time - and I don't like it. So I recently decided to start reading / rereading some of the classics. Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn down, Moby Dick up.

Great start to your endeavor and a good companion knife.

Anytime I’m reading an old novel and a character sits down and begins “cutting a book” I always wonder what the knife would have looked like. Then I go on ebay or etsy and try to find it. I never can. I would love to see examples of 19th century folding paper knives. I’m sure there have been many that I missed.

See post No. 2035 on this thread :)

But typical Armchair Warrior politician ;) not much change there...

Wonder what sort of Penknife he was longing to use? :D
The parts of the Wikipedia article that describe his role in the aftermath of the Brown raid, and his military career with the confederacy definitely back up the authors claims about him.

A hot-headed pro-slavery secessionist, the man definitely does not seem like a likable character
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_A._Wise

Among the juicy tidbits you can find there:

“A delegate to the Virginia Constitutional Convention of 1850, Wise opposed any reforms, insisting that the protection of slavery came first.”

John Quincy “Adams described Wise in his diary as "loud, vociferous, declamatory, furibund, he raved about the hell-hound of abolition"

“Henry A. Wise served as a U.S. Representative from 1833 to 1844. He was elected Representative in 1832 as a Jackson Democrat. To settle this election, Wise successfully fought a duel with his opponent”
